On cask at Surly, slight vanilla but much more oak than I expected. Really nice, creamy.

I can’t believe I forgot to rate this brew! Had it on cask at Happy Gnome in 2010(11?). This was the best brown ale I have ever had! I still remember the awesome-ness to this day!

Tap at brewery. Pours dark brown with a quick kahki head that rests as collar. Aroma is sweet malt and vanilla and faint dark fruit. Taste is more the same, but definitly stands out even better. Palate is medium and creamy with a dry finish.

DalzAle (1999) - Eden Prairie, Minnesota, USA - OCT 22, 2011
Tap. Dark brown cask pour, plenty of creamy head and a barely noticeable vanilla aroma. Flavor was similar to regular bender, creamy chocolate, some dark malt and a little dry vanilla. Very good.

Skyview (5242) - Papoose Jct, Minnesota, USA - OCT 22, 2011
On cask-drawn during Darkness Day 2011 in Brooklyn Center, Minnesota. Pours a hazy brown colored brew with a creamy off-white head that has some good retention and lacing. Aroma of caramel, dark malt, a touch of roasted nuts, and some whipped cream vanilla. Taste is medium bodied, smooth and creamy with a caramel malt favor along with some vanilla and light chocolate. Finish has a slightly dry dark malt aftertaste with some light vanilla that quickly disappears.

Cask at the Happy Gnome (St. Paul, MN) on December 2, 2010. Nice variant on Bender - brown pour with a semi-small off-white head. Aroma and taste are similar to Bender, with the vanilla-bean infusion elements coming out in both, but not over the top. Very tasty.
