COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Get Surly! Here’s what happens when substance meets smooth. This oatmeal brown ale defies traditional categories. Bender begins crisp and lightly hoppy, complemented by the velvety sleekness oats deliver. Belgian and British malts usher in cascades of cocoa, coffee, caramel, and hints of vanilla and cream. An easy-drinking ale with many layers of satisfaction.

Lightly roasted toffee aroma. Reddish brown pour with an off-white head. Very creamy mouthfeel. Chocolate and toffee dance and play with a delightful bitterness. The bitterness lingers. This is kind of abrown pale ale. Interesting, tasty and quaffable. Thanks Jeff.

One of the best Brown Ales I’ve had! Full of roasty chocolate malty flavors. Pours clear brown with minimal white head. Goes down smooth, with sweetness, wood, smoke and chocolate all in the flavors. Pretty clean and yet sweet and, well, brown!

Tap @ Cafe 28. An excellent, full flavor, light body session beer. Tons of depth to this brew.

Can, courtesy sdeth. Pours a dark caramel red color, big white head, creamy white lacing. Caramel malt aromas, brown sugar, toffee, fairly strong and aromatic overall. Big roasted caramel malts pound the tongue. Sugar, chocolate. Some hops in the finish. There’s some coffee in there, too, albeit off in the distant. Bright, thin-bodied, but satisfying, and very easy to drink. One of the better browns around.

Can: Pours deep amber with a thin mocha head. Lots of caramel and toffee notes mix with a white sugar sweetness in the nose. Milk chocolate, cocoa, plum and roasted coffee notes make an appearance as well. The plummy note persists in the body, riding atop the wave of caramel malts. Complexity sums up the body - there is alot going on for a 5.1% brown ale. Citrusy hops, creamy malts and dark fruits are all present. This is a nice beer, but it is kind out of whack and overhopped for me.

Can- Pours a darker brown cola color. Full of noble hops and grass charachter. Drinking is smooth, nice chocolate malts and oats add to the body. Some slight papery flavors just slightly add. Great finish. Nice beer. Very cool can.

16oz can via trade at DLD poured into a tulip. pours a dark, chestnut brown with a thick, fluffy vanilla head and great lacing. aroma is very nice with fresh, roasted pistachios, coffee, malted chocolate, and a hint of sugary, citrus hops. flavor was delicious and hoppy up front with notes of citrus, grass, and earth with big roasted, nutty malts following with hints of cinnamon and coffee. mouthfeel was medium bodied, very drinkable if not a bit thin, with solid carbonation. overall, a very solid brown ale.

Can from Buckybeer. Amber/Brown in color with nice tan head. Good roasted aroma with some milds hops coming thru. The taste was quite pleasent with caramel, hops and good roasted character showing. The mouthful had some fizz but not in a bad way. Nice bitter/roasted finish.
