Can from IrishBoy (thanks!) - dark amber with a tan head - roasty, nutty aroma, with hints of wood and vanilla - smooth, creamy mouthfeel, with a medium body, nicely bittered, with a slight bit of roasty/smokey notes to compiment it - well-intergrated flavors of hazelnut and vanilla - slight herbal/spice qualities - very well balanced - I would love to have regular access to this.

Pours a small tan head, good retention and some skinny stringy lace to boot. Clear brown brew with a pretty red hue. Nose is caramelly, lightly nutty and grainy. Medium bodied, pretty damn smooth, lightly creamy. Notes of roast, caramel, cocoa and faint bitter sweet chocolate , maybe some toffee notes as well. Finish is almost dry, roasty and lasting. One nice Brown Ale. footbalm delivered this baby. Thanks Eric!

Can: Brownish in color, heavy burnt brown sugar hues, large frothy beige head, attractive lacing.   Soft roasted malt nose, a bit of cocoa and milk sugar.   Seems bittersweet.   Doesn’t appear to have much of a hop presense.   Smooth pale roasted malt start, subtle sweetness, a little cocoa too.   Did I mention smooth?   Some hop bitterness comes out at the finish.   Clean, soft coffee bean lingers.   This is perty darn good!   Many thanks to joebrew for sending me this wonderful creation!

20070625 Big ol’can thanks to Dodd. Mahogany hints on mostly black. Pretty stuff with lofty white head. Aroma is cocoa, roasty dark bread, light lactose, bourbon-like woody hints. Nice session brown reminds of a dunkel, maybe a lighter Hell Hath No Fury. Great palate and finish. Light bitterness.

Can from Tyloanderso: Pours a deep brown with a thick creamy head and good lacing. Light aroma of toasted nuts, cocoa, and fusel. Malty and rich, with a surprising bit of bitterness to counter the chocolate and oat flavors. Really finishes well, making it a natural to go back for another sip.

Can from theisti, via Zinister. Thanks! Pours a velvety mahogany with an off-white head. Aromas of chocolate cherry and chocolate raspberry are dominant in the nose, with a hint of java for good measure. Flavor is smoky strawberry and chocolate coffee; friggin’ awesome. Mouthfeel is only average, but this is the only lowpoint here. This is an AWESOME brew!

Can courtesy of oakbluff. Pours a very bubbly dark orange-brown with a large mostly-lasting creamy tan head. Semi-sweet aroma of dark malt, nuts, cocoa, oats and very light hops. Flavour of caramel malt, nuts, a bit of chocolate, more hops then the aroma suggests and an average bitter finish. Medium bodied, creamy mouthfeel. Very nice, this went down easily and quickly -- one of the best Brown Ales I’ve ever had.
