Pours a dark brown with a thin tan head. Sweet malty aroma, very sweet, caramel, chocolate, twangy, a bit earthy, . The flavor is really smooth and layered. No carbonation. Chocolate, caramel, coffee, earthy, definitely shows the English malt.

Scored this in a trade with Scubarex. Many thanks! Pours a nearly opaque dark, nut brown from the can with a thin head that faded fast. Aroma is malty with biscuits and dough enticing you to come in. Flavor is very sweet and drinkable. Slightly roasted nuts (think dark peanuts) with crackers, biscuits, sweet blonde brownies, caramel and toffee all working well together. Dry finish allows the beer to go down easy. Great session beer that I can’t imagine anyone ever getting sick of.

600ml can, courtesy of Oslo, Ratebeer tasting under the Bridge 12/9. Quickly fading frothy tan head on a deep brown body. Mild roasty aroma, maybe some vanilla essence too. Flavour of caramel and oats. More interesting than the average brown ale.

Can. Pours amber brown with decent beige head, plenty of lacing. Aroma of citrus hops, caramel, chocolate, faint fruit. Taste is similar with lots of hops and smooth malt character. Finish is hoppy bitter. Mouth is a little carbonated, full-bodied, and satisfying. Overall, a solid brew.

Pours a nice dark brown, with a small tan head. Nice burnt aromas of chocolate, caramel with hints of nuttiness. The flavor is nice and malty with a good nutty edge and coffee. A nice beer from a great brewery.

Brown color with a medium tan head. Aroma is a nice roasty-bready malt mix with some chocolate and molasses detectable. Flavor is a nice darker malt mix that has a good amount of caramel, oat, sugar, molasses, chocolate. Really good for a brown ale.

Every single person who saw me drinking this said I would like coffee bender better. So, I felt like I was missing something. That being said: Can shared by tytoanderso: Pours a dark brown, with a white and quickly dissipating head. Aroma of flat vanilla, some caramel, and actual coffee beans -- not roasted coffee, and table cream. Flavor is smooth roasted coffee, maybe even a little under-carbonated, and a tinge of hazelnut. Slight wooden flavor that seemed misplaced. Overall, very good brew.

thanks to Sleestak for giving me the chance to try this. Poured brown (duh). Smell was caramel and bitter hops. Taste was coffee, caramel, and a fair bit of bitter hops. Crisp and tasty. This is no weak brown ale.
