Draft. Black. Frothy off white head. Beautiful smooth coffee. Dark chocolate. Vanilla stays in support. Medium body. Not really roasty. Not bitter. Good balance. How much better can a coffee beer get?

On tap: The aroma consists of moderate chocolate, caramel, light vanilla, coffee, and a touch of nuts. It’s a dark brown with some orange transparency and a one finger beige head that fades to a thin film. There are solid rings left on the sides of the glass with each sip. The flavor starts with moderate chocolate and lighter caramel. The finish has light roast, vanilla, coffee, and a hint of nuts. It’s light-medium bodied with light-moderate carbonation and a somewhat soft mouthfeel.

Cuckoo for cacao? Good beer for coffee heads, but a bit sweet to my tastes. Nice in a flight size serving, but I didn’t crave the pint.

Deep opaque mahogany, light tan head. Roast espresso, light cocoa. Signifantly bitter, drier body. Long coffee finish with a lingering hint of vanilla, medium body, fairly effervescent. Pretty good, coffee overpowers the vanilla and cacao unfortunately.
