This beer is our regular Bender beer with a cold-press coffee-brewing process. We steep 20 gallons at a time, so this beer will pop up at Tours, beer fests and special tappings. The coffee is roasted locally at Coffee & Tea Limited in Linden Hills.

Sampled @ CBC 2014. Very dark red-brown color with a nice dark red glare coming through. Medium sized beige head. Overpowering aroma of coffee, mocha and espresso. Taste malts, dark malts, again strongly coffee, mocha and espresso and nicely bitter. Very heavy aroma, but more balanced flavorwise imo.

Had it on tap at the Tipsy Cow. This beer tasted just like drinking black coffee. It was good, but I like coffee stouts and porters more.

Coffee Bender has a special place in my heart, as it's one of the beers responsible for piquing my interest in craft beer. That random taste at Hopleaf one night in 2008 was infectious.

Deliciously pungent, fresh, roasty coffee aroma fills the air. Taste follows suit, delivering torrents of coffee to my palate courtesy of the fluent, moderately light body.

Crushable. This beer has one goal and absolutely nails it. Probably my favorite brown ale on the planet. All day, erry day!

Fresh can. Pours deep brown/black, no head. Aroma is dark roast coffee, some mocha, faint raisin/fig/plum and dark chocolate. Taste is amazing coffee flavor - one of the better I can remember. Lighter bodied (and expected, at 5%), but huge flavor here. I’ll drink as much of this as I can find.

Can: Thanks, Corey! Pours like a cup of medium strength coffee, hold the cream, topped with an ecru layer of froth that would be fit for a latte. Aroma is full-force cold pressed coffee... Smells like an iced coffee with cream & sugar, seriously. Lightly sweet mocha notes underneath. Taste is (not surprisingly) outright coffee, coffee, coffee. Iced coffee. But it’s beer. More roastiness on the palate than expected, but still a nice, milky sweetness undercurrent flowing through. Touch of astringent roast in the finish. The aftertaste leaves your mouth feeling like you just finished a cup of coffee. No shit. Very tasty beer for the coffee lovers (like me) in the world. Could use a little more body, perhaps.

Torréfaction intense, malts rôtis, noisettes grillés et moka dans une brown ale axé sur le café noir.
