Oakes (6793), Miami Beach, Florida, USA May 24, 2008 Draught, CBC Chestnut, cloudy. Gorgeous, complex chocolatey, earthy coffee nose is probably the best coffee beer nose I’ve come across, at least in a long while. Smooth, complex coffee, lightly balanced. Good backing sweetness. Stellar example. argo0 (6019), Washington DC, USA Jun 30, 2007 (draft) Tan head atop cola black body. Aroma is medium sweet, fresh roast coffee, light earthy. Taste is medium sweet, coffee, Coffee, COFFEE. Medium body, light oiliness. I’d like it much better if I genuinely liked coffee. As it is, it’s the most coffee-like beer I’ve ever had. kp (6000), Woodstock, Georgia, USA Sep 1, 2007 Date: 06/23/2007

yespr (5611), Copenhagen O, Denmark Jun 30, 2007 Sample from tap at the brewery. Pours dark brown to black with a brown head. Aroma is roasted malt and coffee. Flavour is coffee with malts kicking in a bit later. Long bitter finish. Adding 1 overall due to the coffee compared to the regular bender, I really enjoy that. CaptainCougar (4601), Rockville, Maryland, USA Nov 18, 2007 Growler shared by kp at the RBSG grand tasting on 6/23/07: Pours a barely transparent dark mahogany with a spotty-lacing light tan head. Nice fresh roasty espresso coffee aroma has some sweet caramel and dark chocolate notes. Body starts fairly full with nice sweet dark caramel and chocolate flavor and lots of big espresso bean balance. Finishes with lingering dark chocolate and light sweetness. A very nice coffee beer.
