COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Oh great, a fizzy yellow beer in a can, that’s just what the craft beer world needs! CynicAle melds Old World ingredients in a new school style. French malted barley, English oats and Belgian yeast create honey and black pepper flavors. Lively Slovenian hops provide the floral, apricot and peach notes. Toss your doubts away, toss one back and enjoy!

Tap. Poured cloudy pale gold with a white head. Aroma was fruity with notes of apples and flora. The flavor began fruity sweet with a slight bitter note and ended on a citrus note.

Tap. Pour is hazy yellow with medium white head. Aroma is grass, hay, lemon, coriander, honey, and light pepper. Flavor is true to aroma with a lightish mouthfeel. Finish is crisp and lemony with notes of hay. pretty standard for the style.

Can via trade. Pours medium gold with a 2 finger thick off white head that left some nice lacing. Nose was quite fruity with hints of clove spice, apricots, peaches, citrus and some banana. I can pick up some fruity Belgian yeast as well. Flavor is slightly sweet and fruity up front then finishes quite dry and crisp.

This is a biggish saison with heavier texture and body than other saisons. Slightly darker golden color, thin white foam. Sweet honey flavors, grains of paradise, significant hops. Just a bit too big for common enjoyment. If they made a smaller, tighter saison I would be very into it.

Can at the 8th Richmond Gathering courtesy of maniac. Gold bodied. Aroma is graham crackers, grains, dried fruit and light straw. Yeast notes as well. Taste is sweet, slightly bitter, grassy notes, dried fruit, yeast and grains. Body is bubbly and spritzy with a light overall mouthfeel. Sweet malts, and fruit along with yeast notes, grains and grass during the finish.

Draft at Bavarian Lodge. My 1,300th American beer rating! Spicy dry hops over a sea of lightly kilned malts. Clean beer color. Thick, warming malt, with a European peppery hop load. Would probably rate much higher if we weren’t in the middle of some of Bavarian Lodge’s fantastic tap beers.
