Oh great, a fizzy yellow beer in a can, that’s just what the craft beer world needs! CynicAle melds Old World ingredients in a new school style. French malted barley, English oats and Belgian yeast create honey and black pepper flavors. Lively Slovenian hops provide the floral, apricot and peach notes. Toss your doubts away, toss one back and enjoy!

1 pint can, contains poured into a Stone OG tulip glass. Appearance is a murky caramel orange hue, fair amount of off-white runny foam dissipates mostly, watery lacing. Smell is floral hops with light grainy malts, tones of light fruits (apricots, peaches), citrus honey, and yeast. Taste is initial dominated by honey and subtly sweet fruits, transitions to grassy floral hops and bread-like malts, Belgian yeast is present throughout, some pepper and cloves in the background, finishes dry and prickly. Mouthfeel is light-medium bodied, watery smooth texture, prickly carbonation. I can’t believe that such a well-balanced and flavorful saison came out of a can, score another winner from Surly!

GTMW 08 - Pours hazy orange with a sudsy of-white head. Lots of nectar fruits and earthiness along with barnyard Belgium yeast. Medium grainy body with soft carbonation. A good saison.

A universe of thanks to SoLan for sharing this brew. Pours a murky gold color and 1.5 fingernails of off-white head that holds retention well. A yeasty, dusty aroma; very reminiscent of a Saison. The taste is citrusy and wheaty--like a hefeweizen--subtle grassy hops, white bread, clove, and banana with a dry, peppery finish. This beer confused me as it shares the qualities of a Hefeweizen, Saison, and Belgian Strong all in one beer. Medium/high carbonation and medium body. A great brew.

Can: Pours a murky yellow/gold color with a rocky, white head. Notes of belgian yeast, bready malts, pepper, and floral hops are noted...flavor consists of sharp, floral hops, citrus, pepper-y accents, bread dough and a bit of barnyard. Medium-bodied and quite good overall.

Issued forth a bubbly straw gold with a medium off-white head. Aroma had fruity esters and light grassy hops. You definitely got the yeast notes of the classic Belgian saison, but none of the barnyard funkiness. Taste was fruity up front with a peppery finish. Definitely a different breed of saison, but nicely balanced and refreshing.

Poured pale golden color from the can. Aroma was peach with some belgian yeast fruit notes. Taste was started fruity, belgian yeast, then finished with earthy hops, pepper and a very dry finish. Really interesting beer. I enjoyed it.

Can, shared by yobdoog at BCTC on friday. Thanks Trevor! Nose is nice a yeasty with a fair amount of hop presence. Flavor similar; more yeast, hops, a bit of spices, pepper, and a mild sweetness.

Pretty good brew, on tap at the brewery. Sweet smell of fruits. A yellow-orange color with a small off white head. Flavors of malts, barley, yeast are balanced decently but doesn’t give it too much "mmm" factor. Smooth with a dry finish. Overall, decent but very impressed with the awesome aroma.
