COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
From the blackest depths of the brewhouse comes Damien, Child of Darkness. Spawned from the usually discarded remnants of Darkness, Damien is a dry-hopped black ale. Flavors of roasted malt and dark brown sugar suffocated by aromas of tangerine and pine.

On tap at Surly. I have to say I prefer this to Darkness. It is almost like an American Strong Ale with a Darkness base. Nice combinations of the roasted malt, with some added sugar and citrus hops.

Odd beer. Thin and really roasty. Very little aroma. Somewhat acidic. Pour at Thomas, FFF,

Pours a clear, clean nut brown with frothy tan head. A lot of lacing on glass. Aroma is toffee, raisin and rising bread dough. Flavor is very fresh grapefruit notes with a brown sugar back. Body is light with active carbonation.

Tap at grumpyís ne. Deep brown color with a minimal head. Nice aroma with grapefruit, more orange citrus, roast coffee, and some chocolate. Wow! Taste is a bit different. More citrus with less malt. Slightly thin. Still, this is the best escondidian dark ale Iíve had.

This was a great black ale. Not overly hopped like most black ales. This is very drinkable and enjoyable!

Tap at red cow. Pint. Black with white tan head. Smells of roasted malt and tastes of it too. But has the ipa elements Iíd expect as well. Feels nice on the tounge. Well done.

Pours a dark dark brown, just light enough that you can tell itís clear. Smell is bread with some pine and citrus notes. Like a very resinous black IPA. The taste definitely holds that pine, but with quite a bit more bread, some toffee, and a pleasant brown-sugariness which I fell in love with. I donít know if theyíll ever do this again, but Iíd drink more.

Draught at Darkness Day. Wonderful aroma. Of the best beer aromas i have smelled. Had floral and citrus notes. Slight notes of pine as well. Dark brown/black color. Slight sweet and bitterness. Not a bad beer. The aroma was so amazing, it didnt seem like the taste and palate could live up to it. Seems a little lacking. But overall a good beer with an amazing aroma.

On tap, black with an off white head. Aroma of citrus hops with hints of pine, coffee, and dark malta. Taste was decent, nothing really stood out as being dominant in the flavor profile with a bitter hop finish. Good brew overall.

On tap @Mackenzie Pub (Minneapolis). Awesomely dark IPA that, from afar, looks as though itís another porter or stout. However, the aroma will immediately notify you of the difference you are about to experience. Wonderful hoppy floweriness on the aroma. Smooth to drink, but a little thin on the palate. Nice hoppy grassy flavor with maple and chocolate on top from the malt, well balanced. Overall, a very nice beer for relaxing.
