COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
From the blackest depths of the brewhouse comes Damien, Child of Darkness. Spawned from the usually discarded remnants of Darkness, Damien is a dry-hopped black ale. Flavors of roasted malt and dark brown sugar suffocated by aromas of tangerine and pine.

On tap @Mackenzie Pub (Minneapolis). Awesomely dark IPA that, from afar, looks as though it’s another porter or stout. However, the aroma will immediately notify you of the difference you are about to experience. Wonderful hoppy floweriness on the aroma. Smooth to drink, but a little thin on the palate. Nice hoppy grassy flavor with maple and chocolate on top from the malt, well balanced. Overall, a very nice beer for relaxing.

On tap at brewery. Minneapolis. Pretty solid actually. Color is dark brown with a small rim of offwhite head. Not super hoppy, there are some really nice roasty notes. Body was petty decent, given that it’s made from spent grain. Pretty interesting beer. I would try it again.

On tap at the brewery. Pour is deep brown with a big tan colored head and great lacing. Roasty, chocolatey, grapefruit, some pineapple notes, earthy, and orange peels in the aroma. Taste is roasty, some cocoa, light coffee, grapefruit, oranges, vanilla, and grass with a medium bitter finish. Medium body with soft carbonation. Tasty stuff.

Pour on tap at All Pints North, dark black pour with tan head, aroma brought notes of dark fruit, molasses, chocolate, some slight pine notes with a hint of citrusy hop as well, some coffee comes through with a touch of anise. Taste was a mix of anise, dark chocolate, dark fruit into a slight pine, hints of caramel, touch of roasted malts, finishing slightly roasted.

Draft. Black with thin tan head. Light aroma of brown sugar, molasses, and roasted malts. Medium body, medium malt and brown sugar sweetness (for an IPA), some hop bitterness, and a dry finish. A little on the sweet side, but still good.
