3.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Supposedly half pint pour (but actually around 10 oz., well above the 8 oz. mark on the glass), on tap at the Surly Beer Hall in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Consumed on 12-26-14. Pours a deep, bold, clear gold. Highly effervescent but with very little head. The liquid looks excellent, but I miss the head. Weak aroma is dominated by the pepper, but there is a little bit of honey sweetness. Pepper flavor atop a floral, fruity (apricot), sweet base. Nice heat but not overwhelming. The pepper works really well here, but the underlying beer is not exciting. White bread with Thai chili paste spread on it. Juicy: Pear, white grape juice. Medium body. Smooth, crisp, and lively in the palate. Long, spicy aftertaste. Good palate effects. Enjoyable. Seems like a good beer for someone who likes spice but otherwise has a rather plebian palate. That said, the spice does work really well.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Clear golden yellow in color... Aroma of light biscuity malts, slight peppery notes... Flavor is biscuity and light initially, gives way to fiery heat... Spicy chili pepper burn on palate... Interesting, decent

3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 12/20
Pours yellow, with a biscuit aroma. Based on the smell, you wouldn’t expect the spiciness, which hits you a little late on the back of the throat. It’s pretty similar to Hell, but with the spice. Bready, slight banana, but lots of spice.

3.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
On tap. Straw colored with basically no head. The burn hits you late in the throat. This gets uniqueness points, but I’ve had better pepper beers. Wouldn’t recommend much more than 5 ounces or so of this at a time though...

UPDATED: JAN 1, 2014 Tap at Muddy Waters. Pale gold pour with no head. Good lord is this hot! Chili pepper and black pepper stand right up and punch you in the throat. Super fun but chase it with water.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20
Tap @ Stub and Herbs on Darkness Eve. Pours a bit hazy, golden orange appearance with a small white head. Kind of spicy, chili, grassy, herbal nose. Mango, tropical fruity, rich chili spicy, pepper, a little smoky, herbal flavor. Ok but it’s just a novelty.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 14/20
on tap at Muddy Waters 2Oct2012, Looks like hell, but smells peppery, the taste is exactly like hell on the front of the tongue, but the back of your mouth top of throat catches the heat and warms quite well.. pepper dominated (duh) perhaps this would have worked better with Darkness or a more heavy beer. The burn doesnt last long and didnt stop me from enjoying my food or other libations.

Aroma - Smells like weak hell. Appearance - looks like hell. Taste - Hell with nicely added chili’s! The chili’s are really worked into the Hell its just not on top or mixed in. Palate - still thin Hell. Overall - not bad just not all too much of it at once!
