I though to myself drinking this, my 2nd beer at FoBab, that brown ales work well with cherries, with wine, and both (Supplication as an example of the latter). The aroma was pretty funky, slightly enteric. To me this was thankfully not an aceto-bomb, not vinegary, only slight to moderate sourness. Medium-bodied and easy to drink, I recall. So slightly winey, but with seeming real cherry too.

FoBAB 9. Very dark red-amber, thin cream head, large bubbled ring. very bland nose of chocolate, dates, light cherry tartness but almost no sourness, just muted mutedness. Flavor similar, more KRE with light tartness, way less malt, thin, low carbonation and way too sweet, sourness seems like an additive. Mess of a beer.

Sampled from the tap at 2011 FOBAB. Poured a deep dark reddish amber that was nearly clear and had an off-white heads that dissipated to the edges. Aroma had notes of tart red fruits with a bit of dark grain, raisins and a hint of funk. Flavor was full of slightly tart red fruit with backing dark grains and a hint of dryness in the finish.

750mL thanks to evanlarkin. A very deep, clear brown pour looks black in the glass with a larger tan head diminishing quickly. Decent lace. No retention. Acid cut. Nose is detergent, heavier acetic, red grapes, mild vinegar, but obvious oude brune characters: spicy oak, red wine vinous characters. But also a little old grape jelly character. Taste is sweet tart heavy, pretty intense tartaric acid. Not as good as the Weyerbacher Rapture. Sweet tarts heavy. Lacking in palate- lemony and thin.
