Draft at the Brat cabin. Piney aroma that is almost resin(resinous) Dark red/amber almost brown color with a small rim of head. Fermented fairly dry in the finish. Centennial hops are ver prominent nos as balanced as a Bell’s 2 hearted ale. Slight belgian lace. Resin aroma all the way through.

Can. Poured a clear golden amber with a frothy egg shell. Lots of pine in the nose, also some earthy grass and grapefruit notes are also present. Mostly full body with a round mouth feel and decent carbonation. Medium sweet with notes of grapefruit, floral hops, caramel, and pine. Finishes medium sweet with a good amount of hop bitterness.

I am biased. I love this beer so much that it is the beer by which I measure all others. The aroma is a delightful bitter floral grapefruit. Color is beautiful reddish brown. Taste is a fantastic bitter grapefruit that lingers for minutes. Full boddied rich IPA. Just awesome.

Canned, thanks Cletus! Hazy dark amber, small head. Lychee aroma. Mid-sweet with medium body and vital, rounded mouthfeel. Juicy flavour where gooseberry, lychee and winegums dominates. Grapfruity bitter finish. Very aromatic, very good.

UPDATED: JUN 8, 2011 Copper clear with 1 cm foam dissipating to a fine lace. The initial aroma is WOW! on the nose. Nice floral and spruce hops. The malt may be a bit overpowered by the heavy bitterness (99 IBU!), but some good caramel comes through. The 6.2 % alcohol is well masked (dangerous with those tall cans!) The palate was the only disappointment, with some sticky/soapy feeling on the finish. Nicely made IPA. I would definitely get it again.

OK, I found some again and had to improve the rating. I didn’t get the soapy/stickiness this time. Probably a testament to unpasteurized beer that I have to transport hundreds of miles after buying. Can’t say enough about the outstanding, complex aroma of this beer.

The first beer in a can I’ve been excited about since I was 18. Thanks to cvaypai for sending one my way.
A: Clear amber color with a good sized white head.
S: Very floral and piney.
T: Malty and caramelly--somewhat sweeter than I’m used to with an IPA, but a good bitter piney finish
M: Very nice level of carbonation, medium body.
D: Quite drinkable. I’d definitely have this again.

16 oz. can from a trade with DalzAle- thanks, Greg! Pours a clear brown-amber color with a big rocky off-white head that sticks around. Big hoppy aroma, nice and earthy, with notes of pine, caramel malts, and some light citrus notes. A big hoppy flavor follows, a variety of hops held together by a nice caramel malt backbone, with notes of citrus and such a nice balance of bitter, sweet, and malty. This isn’t complex, and that’s just fine. It’s a basic hops-malt-citrus (and light on the citrus) IPA, but it’s done so, so well. I’ve always been partial to double/imperial IPAs but this is pretty much as good as any regular IPA.
