COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Like Hops? You’ll like this fire-hued beer. This is the beer I have always dreamed of making. This is the beer that would come to mind while spending the last two years tearing down walls, hanging sheetrock, moving kegs, power washing the ceilings, arguing with various agencies, and cutting the water main. Without Golden Promise malt, made by family-owned Simpsons Malt, Furious would just be pissed offed. From Scotland, this malt is still produced in the tradition of turning over the barley by hand, resulting in a malt that is unsurpassed in its quality. Golden Promise is also used extensively by premium whisky distilleries such as The Macallan. This malt provides the backbone for the intense hop character. Four American hop varieties are used at a rate of over three pounds per barrel. The result is a rich malt sweetness infused with bright hop flavor and aroma from beginning to end. Oh yeah, it’s about 6% alcohol and around 100 IBUs.

A hazy dark copper orange ale with a thick frothy creamy light moka head. A wonderful hops aroma, resinous, with citrus and marmelade notes, some caramel. Wow! In mouth, a light malt with good citrusy c-hops, a bit lighter than expected from aroma. An excellent IPA. Gift from Piscator. Tasted with Probstk, May 26 2007.

Can. Opens with hardly a sound, no pfftt ? No carbonation ? Pours an amber with an off-white head that I forced to produce, didn’t stick around long. Aroma is citrus and pine. Flavor lacks the intensity of the aroma, subdued cirtus and pine, malt shows through more. No carbonation and just slightly bitter on the finish.

Fuck yea. This beer rocks, the best tall can I’ve ever had. Pours reddish orange color with a ton of egg shelled colored head. There was a serious blast of pine and citrus when I cracked the can. Taste was hoppy and fresh with a nice aftertaste. Was not dry like some IPA’s but very smooth and wet. Extremely refreshing brew, I wish I could pick this one up everyweekend. One of the best session beers out there.

Dark amber with a fluffy white head. Nose has some caramel, major pine, and orange. Flavor is similar, a little more malt and bread yet also more citrus to keep the balance. Moderate palate but where is the carbonation??... just kind of falls flat. Good beer, nice balance, but it’s not a top tier IPA.

On tap, in a can, and tea-bagged. Pours a clear amber with a nose that is just plain hops. Simcoe and Amarillo hops mix to bring a blend of citris and pine. Caramel flavors but not too sweet and just plain hoppy. A smooth bitterness on the tongue that lasts for a while. One of my favorite beers.

UPDATED: FEB 23, 2009 16 oz can brought back from Minnesota by my dear friend Kathy. Pours a dark amber with a one finger white head. Interesting melange of hop aromas, some flowers, some grapefruit and a nice pine bite at the end. Hefty orange flavor with some lemon, grapefruit and pineapple behind it and a pine snap in the finish. The flavors linger for ages after the can is gone, which is good since I ran out of the stuff!

Appearance: Pours a dark orange or amber with a perfect 1 inch off white head. Aroma: Light whiffs of piney hops, a little bit of citrus, and crystal malt. Taste: Orange, lemon, pineapple, bitter piny hops, and sugar sweetness. Finishes with a nice level of bitterness. Mouthfeel: Juicy, thick. Flavors stick and linger long after the sip. Overall: Bursting with flavor. I am noticing a trend in the IPAs and IIPA’s coming out of the region. This is a very west coast like beer.

Can from trade with valpodogs. Pours a hazy yellow-brown with a small beige head. Nose is floral hops with pine and citrus, sweet malt, caramel, and pine all come together in this whirlwind. Flavor is piney bite finishing with astringent citrus. Lots of Belgian lace on the glass. Finish lingers with astringent citrus. Medium-bodied mouthfeel to this interesting canned craft beer.
