COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Like Hops? You’ll like this fire-hued beer. This is the beer I have always dreamed of making. This is the beer that would come to mind while spending the last two years tearing down walls, hanging sheetrock, moving kegs, power washing the ceilings, arguing with various agencies, and cutting the water main. Without Golden Promise malt, made by family-owned Simpsons Malt, Furious would just be pissed offed. From Scotland, this malt is still produced in the tradition of turning over the barley by hand, resulting in a malt that is unsurpassed in its quality. Golden Promise is also used extensively by premium whisky distilleries such as The Macallan. This malt provides the backbone for the intense hop character. Four American hop varieties are used at a rate of over three pounds per barrel. The result is a rich malt sweetness infused with bright hop flavor and aroma from beginning to end. Oh yeah, it’s about 6% alcohol and around 100 IBUs.

(16 oz. can via trade with pantanap, thanks Kan!) Pours coppery amber, starts fairly clear but is hazier deeper into can. Two fingers of lightly amber off-white head. Aroma of fresh grapefruit. Mouthfeel smooth, medium-full. Flavor of grapefruit over light caramel and vanilla. Outstanding hop presence.

Ok, this beer rules. Pours deep copper colour with 2 fingers of eggshell white head that laced the entire way down. Aroma of hops, grapefruit, hops, mango rinds, hops, pine, and more hops. Taste of Mango and citron hops balanced by toasted caramel malts and toasted dark bread in the finish. Perfectly carbonated. I’ll go back to Minnesota for dozens. Everything you could want in an IPA.

Pours a dark amber with tons of head and sticky lacing. Nose is resinous piney notes. First sip is hoppy but malt very present with some toasted flavor the yields to hops. Finish is clean. Best canned beer I ever had.

UPDATED: SEP 9, 2011 Date: September 7, 2011 Mode: Can Source: Apple Valley Liquor Appearance: Translucent amber, large head due to aggressive pour, and some lacing. Aroma: Citrus (grapefruit and orange), hops and pine. Flavor: Consistent with aroma, thin to medium bodied, smooth, bitter finish.

Off the tap at Brasa and the MN state fair. Cloudy golden pour with white head that laced all the way down. Bold hop flavor, with big pine and grapefruit notes, backed by a great malt build. Mouthfeel is very substantial. Reasonable ABV is nice, since you’ll want to have more than one. My only regret is not stuffing my suitcase fully of these. This NEEDS to find its way to TX.

This is quite possibly my greatest weakness in beer. From the resinous piney smell, to the bright red-hue, to the crisp dry finish. There is never a time when I won’t drink it.

Incredible. Smooth and malty with an overwhelming hop aroma. Subtle bitter finish with notes of pine and citrus. Really well balanced, not at all overwhelming. Excellent brew.
