Commercial Description:
Like Hops? You'll like this fire-hued beer. This is the beer I have always dreamed of making. This is the beer that would come to mind while spending the last two years tearing down walls, hanging sheetrock, moving kegs, power washing the ceilings, arguing with various agencies, and cutting the water main. Without Golden Promise malt, made by family-owned Simpsons Malt, Furious would just be pissed offed. From Scotland, this malt is still produced in the tradition of turning over the barley by hand, resulting in a malt that is unsurpassed in its quality. Golden Promise is also used extensively by premium whisky distilleries such as The Macallan. This malt provides the backbone for the intense hop character. Four American hop varieties are used at a rate of over three pounds per barrel. The result is a rich malt sweetness infused with bright hop flavor and aroma from beginning to end. Oh yeah, it's about 6% alcohol and around 100 IBUs.

Can via trade with mreusch. Incredibly darker than I was expecting. Burnt copper color with an ivory head. Big, citrusy hop aroma- short of lemony with a "toned down" grapefruit note. Grassy hop flavors. Sweetish caramel maltiness and More grapefruit and citrus hop notes in the flavor. Grainy, caramel malt flavors. I’d consider this a very "outside-the-box" IPA but I’d be lying if I said I didn’t enjoy it. A very well made beer.

16oz can that I split with a friend on a lazy Sunday afternoon. The beer was a very dark amber-orange, almost brown. The head was decent and off-white. The taste was very bitter but delicious. Not much fruit flavor but I think I detected a small amount of pine. Overall, this was a pretty good beer. Serving type: can Reviewed on: 05-22-2007 15:49:02

draft: pours dark amber, thin white head, hoppy, grassy aroma, super hoppy and grassy taste, a little buttery, bitter but not as bitter as you would expect from the strong hoppy aroma, solid but not as balanced as I like from my IPAs

Copper to light umber in color. tall taupe head with great lacing. Sweet aromas of ruby red grapefruit, toffee and fresh pine sap. Dry pale and light toasted malt observed while partaking. Hints of sweetness, but a rather dry IPA. Light wood and and dry hops in the middle and well into the finish. LInger has touches of light oak and pale malt. Solid.

Can, thanks secret santa! Slightly hazy light mahogany body, tan head w. nice lacing. Nose is big pine, some resin, a bit of orange along with a nice juicy malt backbone. Flavor is resin, orange, nice toasted malt, caramel. Bitterness grows in the finish along w. a bit of roast.

Pours a cloudy amber color with a nice beige head that leaves a lot of sticky lacing. Aroma features extremely strong pine and citrus (grapefruit) notes with earthy and caramel notes beneath it. Taste is almost a disappointment after the power that the aroma suggests. Not that its bad, just the aroma is so appealing. Taste begins with hop bitterness and finishes with a smooth caramel maltiness that balances it without taking away from the hops. Seems to have a smooth and creamy mouthfeel that makes it quite drinkable.

Big thanks to mashmaster for that can. Looks not spectacular, the beer in the glass a bit darker than exspected, nice small head. Very hoppy-flowery aroma. Beer starts hoppy-fresh, flowery grasy. Very complex hoppy notes, not too dry. Modest bitter in the background. Also a bit fruity. Well balanced finish, very drinkable. A great beer!
