Ungstrup (10853), Frederiksberg, Denmark Jul 7, 2007 Can. An amber beer with a thin beige head. The aroma is lovely hoppy with notes of grapefruit and caramel. The flavor is sweet and extremely hoppy, that makes it very dry and grassy, combined with notes of pine needles and grapefruit. Thanks to yespr for bringing this to Denmark. Papsoe (9771), Frederiksberg, Denmark Jul 4, 2007 (Can 47,3 cl) Courtesy of yespr. Clear, amber golden with an off-white head. Very piney nose. Medium body with lightly sweet caramel malt but otherwise dominated by the extremely dry aroma hops. Really dry as a bone - quinine-like. 290607 Oakes (6790), Miami Beach, Florida, USA Apr 3, 2008 Thick hazy amber - ugly body with a rich "we used a lot of hops" head. Big hop nose - orangey, wood with an earthy, breadcrusty background. Fat body is resiny with hops, in a pleasingly moderate bitterness matched by caramelized sugars that are only slightly sticky. An assault of hops - perhaps lacking the sense of style you see in the best PNW examples but this is nonetheless well-structured. sk8viking (6028), Copenhagen, Denmark Sep 18, 2007 Can. A amber beer with a big tan head. The aroma is light caramel malt, pine, hops, so is the taste, almost harsh from the heavy hopping, but I´m a hophead, so ít´s ok. Medium body with a bitter, very dry hoppy finish. Maybe the best can beer I have ever had. argo0 (6019), Washington DC, USA Nov 29, 2006 (1 pint can, thanks MilkmanDan) Large beige head atop a clear amber/copper body. Aroma is medium sweet, floral/orange, grapefruit, caramel. Taste is medium sweet, grapefruit, floral, orange, some caramel, light smoke. Nice bite. Medium body with some resin, the hops linger for quite some time. Quite drinkable.
