COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Like Hops? You’ll like this fire-hued beer. This is the beer I have always dreamed of making. This is the beer that would come to mind while spending the last two years tearing down walls, hanging sheetrock, moving kegs, power washing the ceilings, arguing with various agencies, and cutting the water main. Without Golden Promise malt, made by family-owned Simpsons Malt, Furious would just be pissed offed. From Scotland, this malt is still produced in the tradition of turning over the barley by hand, resulting in a malt that is unsurpassed in its quality. Golden Promise is also used extensively by premium whisky distilleries such as The Macallan. This malt provides the backbone for the intense hop character. Four American hop varieties are used at a rate of over three pounds per barrel. The result is a rich malt sweetness infused with bright hop flavor and aroma from beginning to end. Oh yeah, it’s about 6% alcohol and around 100 IBUs.

In trade with noncaloric. Thick head. Red-amber beer. Delicious citrus alcohol aroma with hints of caramel, makes me think of a rye IPA. Thinner than expected body for high IBU. Aggressive and tasty citrus edge. An extreme beer, not your everyday pint.

Can - courtesy of tytoanderso! Dark copper pour. Medium beige head leaves spotty lacing on the glass. Aroma is slightly spicy hops, pine and citrus oils. Soft malt as well. Taste is big hops - mainly spicy and citrus notes. Soft pine, light caramel and malt notes. Body is medium and resinous with a creamy carbonation. Ends with more citrusy hops and spicy hops, light caramel, malt notes and orange peel.

Eagan, Mn. - Old Chicago Pizza - on tap. Dark copper pour, nice sticky, slightly off-white head that leave generous lacing. Fresh spruce aroma with some minty accents. full bodied flavor with plenty of bitter grapefruit, some nectarines and a bit of chocolate-toffee maltiness to balance it out. Nice, sticky mouthfeel. Excellent way to start off my vacation.

(16oz can via trade with StFun) rich clear orange, huge fluffy light tan head and excellent lacing. Nose of juicy grapefruit, biscuit, and yeast. Taste of subdued grapefruit ad orange oils, biscuit and caramel. I think this may be slightly aged. Oily mouthfeel. If fresh this is probably amazing.

Cloudy orange, with a nice loos foamy white head. Bitter and sweet are nicely blended throughout, with Piney, woodsy hop note playing off caramel malt notes. Really, really good. Thanks to Buckybeer for the trade!

Can from bhensonb. Pours orange copper with a thick apricot head and a toffee aroma. There is a rich caramel malt flavor that sticks to the palate and very interesting hop profile that provides sufficient bitterness without a puckering reaction. This beer is quite well-balanced and packs a lot of flavor for a 6.2 ABV.

Bottled. Thx Marsiblursi. Redish colour, average sized head. Lots of grapey, piney hops in aroma along with black tea, with solid malts backing it up. Caramelly, toffeeish maltiness is sensed, but most dominant are the hops here, with grapes and mandarines. Bitterness comes early and is pretty edgy, salty. Spiderweb bitterness. Pretty light odied at this abv-level, would gain from more maltiness in body. Long, long bitterness.

Can from IrishBoy (thanks, richard) - medium amber pour, with a lasting, frothy, eggshell white head - agressive, piney hop bite in the aroma, with some earthy, herbal qualities - I’ve never tasted this kind of malt in anything other than a scottish ale, and it’s flavor really works well with the dry, hoppy, grassy character - sure, it winds up tasting like a super-hoppy scottish ale, but what’s wrong with that? - toasty, dry, biscuity notes and a hint of woodiness - this is some quality stuff.
