COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Like Hops? You’ll like this fire-hued beer. This is the beer I have always dreamed of making. This is the beer that would come to mind while spending the last two years tearing down walls, hanging sheetrock, moving kegs, power washing the ceilings, arguing with various agencies, and cutting the water main. Without Golden Promise malt, made by family-owned Simpsons Malt, Furious would just be pissed offed. From Scotland, this malt is still produced in the tradition of turning over the barley by hand, resulting in a malt that is unsurpassed in its quality. Golden Promise is also used extensively by premium whisky distilleries such as The Macallan. This malt provides the backbone for the intense hop character. Four American hop varieties are used at a rate of over three pounds per barrel. The result is a rich malt sweetness infused with bright hop flavor and aroma from beginning to end. Oh yeah, it’s about 6% alcohol and around 100 IBUs.

Clear orange amber with a thin white head. Lots of piney herbal notes in the nose with huge mandarin orange and tropical nectar fruit notes. The flavor holds lots of grassy herbal evergreen notes with more citrus oriented nectar incarnations and some slight perfume notes. The mouthfeel is on the thin side, but coupled with the pillowy light effervescence, I think it really works here.

Pours a clear reddish amber color. Big offwhite head. Pine, resin aroma. Some light fruit smells as well. Taste is smooth, muted hops, malt back bone, bitter finish. Nice full bodied beer. I would have pegged this as a double with all the sweetness going on. Word up to incutrav.

Thanks to Stine for this one. Pours out cloudy orange/copper color with a nice off white head. Intense aroma of grapefruit and citrus hops. Taste is well balanced with a nice citrus hop smack right in the face with some other citrus and light floral hops on the taste. Nice sweet malts in there for some balance, just the right amount as it allows the hops to be the feature in this beer. This is a very solid IPA, I need to find me some more of this.

Can sampled with Steg. The first thing I thought was cans ? But this one was really good. Big hop aroma with a brown pour and off white head. Taste delivered a big hop presenc as well as pine and alcohol. Really good but not blended as good as it should have been.

Can Pours a deep redish amber with a light tan head. Big woody bitter aroma. Flavor was very bitter and a bit of sour fruit at the end. Big long late IBU bite.

On tap at Sheffields River Grove. Pours amber with white head. Aroma is hoppy with citrus and lots of caramel malt. Flavor is bitter hops, citrus, lot of caramel malt and some toffee. Finishes bitter with good mouthfeel and carbonation. Quite different than what I was expecting. WIth all the caramel and toffee flavors it seems like a hopped up brittish IPA. With all the malt it was still pretty bitter. Solid IPA.
