UPDATED: JUL 11, 2010 Nov. 2007 - Pour was dark brown color with good inch head and nice lacing. Strong aroma of hop. Flavor was kick you in the teeth pine and citrus hops with a nice caramel malt backbone with a touch of chocolate and maybe even some earthiness. Really bitter, but not unpleasant. Good brew!
July 2010, on tap in MN - Can’t say too much different, except the color was dark amber with red highlights and nice lacing. I have to bump this up because it was just really tasty. It is everything mentioned in the original review in spades. 3.9 up to 4.2

From the cask at Night of the Living Ales in Chicago under the name Tea-bagged Furious. Orange/cooper color. Aroma is strong with pine, grapefruit, and a bunch of citrus. Actually had some sweet malt in there to try to balance with the bitterness from the hops. Hops win, which is the way I like it. Very good beer.

UPDATED: AUG 5, 2009 Pours opaque ruddy brown. Thin head and lots of lacing. Wonderful hoppy nose with pieapple and caramel. Great balance between hop and caramel malt in the flavor. Clean dry finish. The best canned beer I think I have ever had!

Dark copper pour with a small head. Aroma holds mandarin orange, pine, ruby red grapefruit, and a touch of floral hops. Flavor is fresh and lively, with further evergreen notes, citrus, and some additional grass and herbal components. A bit thin, but that’s expected for a regular IPA. Drinks well- damn good stuff.
3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 JMFG (1582) - Florida, USA - AUG 7, 2007
16 oz can. Clear copper color with a thin white head that left uneven lacing around the glass. Moderate grapefuity hop aroma, some spicy malts lurking beneath. Palate is quite a bit thinner than expected for such a full aroma and appearance. Nice grapefruit rind hop kick to start with some floral components. Mild hop finish with a hint of soap character on the back end. Good base, but the weak palate and odd soapiness at the end holds it back some.

Amber in colour with medium carbonation. Enormous American hop aromas with elements of mandarin orange, pink grapefruit, tangerine, black pepper, earth, and cut grass. The citrus fruit character is quite dominant in the mouth as well, but are balanced out nicely by a smooth, but not overly sweet or caramel-like, maltiness. There’s a bit more of a herbal/leafy touch on the back end, with some fairly assertive bitterness. All of the elements are in balance, but the intensity of all of the flavors are off the charts. An amazing beer!

Huge cloud of massive pine and citrus hop aroma, enormous proportions, I’m talking Dreadnaught enormity,it stays that big for a long time, you can detect some of that Scottish carmel malt, but this is all about the hops, all that hop aroma delivers what it promises when it comes to taste, full rich citrus and pine taste, and absolutely superb finishing bitterness, sweet caramel shows up in little pockets, just medium bodied enough not to be confused with an Imperial, all these flavors cease to fade, at the end the huge hop assault does dry the tongue. Absoutely stunning in all respects virtually the perfect IPA,and all this from A CAN. An absolute drop everything and go on a seek and find mission for any hophead

16 oz. can - thanks to biegman for the trade; pours dark amber with spotty white head; slight haze throughout; a rich, malty beast w/ bitter, dank citrus aromas; rich and creamy with a ton of body; hops are muted (in a good way) with the thick, juicy malts; a great IPA
