COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Like Hops? You’ll like this fire-hued beer. This is the beer I have always dreamed of making. This is the beer that would come to mind while spending the last two years tearing down walls, hanging sheetrock, moving kegs, power washing the ceilings, arguing with various agencies, and cutting the water main. Without Golden Promise malt, made by family-owned Simpsons Malt, Furious would just be pissed offed. From Scotland, this malt is still produced in the tradition of turning over the barley by hand, resulting in a malt that is unsurpassed in its quality. Golden Promise is also used extensively by premium whisky distilleries such as The Macallan. This malt provides the backbone for the intense hop character. Four American hop varieties are used at a rate of over three pounds per barrel. The result is a rich malt sweetness infused with bright hop flavor and aroma from beginning to end. Oh yeah, it’s about 6% alcohol and around 100 IBUs.

Picked up this pint sized can at Discount Liquors, in Milwaukee. This was $4.99 for one pint, so this quite expensive, but I don’t think I’ll have the opportunity to try this again. This beer has a nice brown color with a wispy head. This beer is dark for an IPA, but it looks great. The beer has a very pungent hop aroma. Smells very resinous. Has a lovely and fresh hop aroma. Not as bitter as thought it would be, but this still has a wonderful flavor. Nice citrus hop at first, and then it gets into a deep pine flavor. This beer leaves quite the bitterness on the tongue. As my brother noted while drinking this, it’s a bit on the thin side. It’s not watery, but it doesn’t have the "nicest" texture, as some world class IPAs seem to have. Overall, this beer provides a decent amount of bitterness, but it is lacking in some areas, such as texture to carry along those bitter qualities.

So this was silly, a malt forward floral IPA that rocked. The malt FLAVOR was enhanced without the sweetness. Even tasted a little rye. tons of bitterness, unique take on the style.

Aww yeah!!! Another great can from Tyloanderso. Ruddy hued beauty with a creamy thick head. Hoppy delight of an aroma belies the wonderful balance of malt and hop in the flavor, on top of a great long pleasingly bitter finish.

Can from Tyler! Big Head! Frosty white, three fingers worth. Beautiful dark red/amber color. Good lacing. Smell of citrus hops! Also the smell of malt. Taste is nice bitterness right off the bat. Yet it has a hidden sweetness and a smooth after taste. Taste is all HOPS. Tyler said it was the best beer/IPA out of a can and he was right. Really good IPA!!! Thanks TY for a great beer!

A huge thanks to theisti for hauling this one back from the Twin Cities for me. Pours a clear, dark amber/brown with a large, frothy, beige head. The aroma punches you in the face with heavy grapefruit and pine and just a touch of sweet caramel malts hiding in the background. The mouthfeel is the closest thing to perfect that I’ve ever gotten from and IPA; medium-bodied, creamy and lightly effervescent with a tight bitter finish. The flavor is an excellent blend of sweet caramel malts and in-your-face grapefruit and piney hops. Any hop head that has yet to savor this brew should immediately add it to their "want" list and start making friends with someone from The Land of a Thousand Lakes. The folks in MN are truly fortunate. Thanks again Tim.

Ruby amber pour that filled my glass way to the top. Thanks Dak, for the beautiful beer. Nose is pungent hops and hints of farmhouse funk/leather. Taste is same. Big sweet and slightly "off" flavor. Lovely mix of togetherness malt and hops with "out there" character. Not a beer for the masses, I don’t think. Floral and strong.

Clear orange pour with a thick white head. Very hoppy aroma with fruits and berries, maybe mango and melon. Very good flavor. Lots of hops, but they don’t overpower. Pineapple and mango. Very good, but a tad bitter, could use a touch of sugar. Best beer in can I’ve ever had.

Tap at the Blue Door. Pours a dark amber color with a faint off-white head. Smells and tastes of grapefruity hops and raw sap with an elemnet of caramel. Agressive, but not as inventive as I was expecting.
