16 oz can: Pours a transparent copper bronze with a large pillowy light tan head that leaves a clingy lace behind as it subsides. Aroma boasts a good amount of piny citrusy hops and lightly toasted crystal malts. Body starts with a nice malty sweetness and good fresh bittering grapefruity hoppy balance toward a drier earthy bitter finish. A nice IPA.
3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 Lubiere (6707) - Ottawa, Ontario, CANADA - MAR 5, 2009
A hazy dark copper orange ale with a thick frothy creamy light moka head. A wonderful hops aroma, resinous, with citrus and marmelade notes, some caramel. Wow! In mouth, a light malt with good citrusy c-hops, a bit lighter than expected from aroma. An excellent IPA. Gift from Piscator. Tasted with Probstk, May 26 2007.

Can. Golden / brown colour with an off-white head. Aroma is citrus, hop. Flavour is citrus, hop, grapefruit. Brutal, bitter beer.

Initially huge cream-yellow head, dwindling rapidly even when fed by well-carbonated, darker red-brown beer. Beautiful grapey hops nose, truly superbly aromatic, if a tad unidimensional. Exotic fruit as lychee, dry green sultana’s, and caramelised puff pastry. Dry, wry taste totally dominated by hopoils and α-acids. Hopdryness is such that a dry-out effect is realised on the lingual lowerfront. There’s some caramel malts underneath, but not enough. First of a sip seems well-bodied, but the finish is even thin in texture. Too bad about the unidimensionality. The nose is superb in its promise, the finish is very... American.
3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 3fourths (6218) - Boulder, Colorado, USA - MAY 5, 2007
Sampled from a can. Maybe jut a bit of a murkiness so this beer, slightly muddle dark orange color. Chewy caramel and sweaty, maybe-grassy hop nose, a bit of metallic and burnt hop scents as well. This isn’t the type of IPA/DIPA I prefer, so I wasn’t too hot about this one... over time I came to really dislike the burnt orange hop flavors, began to taste like nails.
4 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 MartinT (6150) - Montreal, Quebec, CANADA - JUN 1, 2008
My Bottom Line:
The bursting, unfettered hoppy festivities of this India Pale Ale seduce the lupulus lover with minty, resinous, and grassy petals atop a slender caramel malt stem. One cannot help but be hypnotized by this luminosity.
Further Personal Perceptions:
-A veil of foam protects the misty amber copper.
-This could be a little too intense for non-hopheads, but for those looking for a hop fix, this as bright and fresh as it gets.
-This might not be balanced, but who cares.
-The mouthfeel is softly carbonated, and the malt’s just big enough to provide sustenance while never taking drinkability away.
Can.

Can courtesy of pepsican (Furious as an added extra!). Pours a hazy reddish amber covered by a frothy, off-white head. Excellet lacing is left, but minimal retention. Wow. Aroma of pine and tangarine hops, raspberries and toffe. Taste is decently malty enough to combat the 99 IBUs that come in like a bunch of pine needles. Some orange towards the finish and a slightly nutty aftertaste that reminds me a bit of Macallan 12. Great can of beer, and a very rich and well balanced IPA. Slightly creamy mouthfeel with nice light bubbles. Wish I could get this stuff when I am in Texas, it would be a constant presence in my fridge...guess I have to settle for Gordon or Dales cans.
3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 Emil (6070) - Copenhagen, DENMARK - SEP 18, 2007
Can. A amber beer with a big tan head. The aroma is light caramel malt, pine, hops, so is the taste, almost harsh from the heavy hopping, but I´m a hophead, so ít´s ok. Medium body with a bitter, very dry hoppy finish. Maybe the best can beer I have ever had.
