Like Hops? Youíll like this fire-hued beer. This is the beer I have always dreamed of making. This is the beer that would come to mind while spending the last two years tearing down walls, hanging sheetrock, moving kegs, power washing the ceilings, arguing with various agencies, and cutting the water main. Without Golden Promise malt, made by family-owned Simpsons Malt, Furious would just be pissed offed. From Scotland, this malt is still produced in the tradition of turning over the barley by hand, resulting in a malt that is unsurpassed in its quality. Golden Promise is also used extensively by premium whisky distilleries such as The Macallan. This malt provides the backbone for the intense hop character. Four American hop varieties are used at a rate of over three pounds per barrel. The result is a rich malt sweetness infused with bright hop flavor and aroma from beginning to end. Oh yeah, itís about 6% alcohol and around 100 IBUs.

Pours a ruby tinged brown with a wonderfully foamy off-white head that lasts seemingly forever. Distinct hop aroma forward with a malty background. Flavor follows. Surprisingly smooth mouthfeel. Great beer

Can to glass. Pours clouded red, creamy off-white head, good lacing. Aroma of grapefruit, pone, sweet caramel malts, toffee and roasted grain. Taste of same with bitter cocoa nibs, deep grains and citrus pone bitter finish. Mod syrup mouthfeel with lots of tiny effervescent carb. Flavor lasts and lasts.

Aroma of pine needles, mango and grassy bitterness. Taste is bitter fruityness with quite a lot of grapefruits and lemon peels with some mango. It never completely crosses the line of too bitter. Great balance.

Beermiscuous, Chicago can: poured in a pretentious IPA glass in which it looked light amber with a pretty, lacing-leaving ipa head. Aroma is pine, earthiness, toffee malts. With some light fruitiness. Taste is fairly bitter. Lingerig bitter aftertaste. Not too much sweetness. Tasty, but I do not think that this was life-changing.

Can from MKLR webshop. Drank from a glass, as instructed by can. Pours a clear amber colour with a somewhat large beige head which slowly recedes to a foamy beige layer. Aroma is dominated by bitter hop attributes - pine, earth, grass and hop oil with some faint whiff of orange in there. Taste grass, spruce, pine needles, medium-high bitterness, orange zest, hop resin, hop oiliness (what Iíd imagine hop oil tastes, though I have never tried it), a slight malt sweetness is prevalent throughout but it mostly hides in the background and runs away quickly as the hops catch a glance, like a ninja. Full bodied with a rich mouthfeel.

Hops and malt and hops. All are top-notch and the combination is a heavenly balance of bitter and deep -- floral and nutty and earthy.

From Dan. Nice bronze color, mildly cloudy, nice yellowish foam. Aroma of orange toffee. Malt, burned sugar with clear alcohol in the aftertaste and a strong growing bitterness. .

Ipas have become a gray area ranging from boring to good. In the grand scheme of things there really isnít such a thing as a "bad" ipa. Hops are good. Brewers know that. Add more Hops and bam 90 rated ipa. This one, however, has gone above and beyond to be slightly more interesting and is therefore a standout in a sea of much less interesting beers. The complexity of the Hops coupled with the very strange interesting maltiness make it a very interesting beer.

This is a beer. A beer so good that it embodies the essence of an IPA. If I were to describe an IPA to someone who has never had one it would be this. But this is an absurdly good version of an IPA. I wish I could drink it more but they donít sell it in my state.

Can enjoyed @ home. Pours clear amber with a thick off-white head. Aroma is oranges, sweet malt, floral, lemon and pine. Flavour is medium sweet and medium bitter. Medium bodied, sticky texture, average carbonation. Finish is malty and resinous.

Really enjoyed this one. Has a unique flavor I can't quite put my finger on. Very solid. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
