COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Like Hops? You’ll like this fire-hued beer. This is the beer I have always dreamed of making. This is the beer that would come to mind while spending the last two years tearing down walls, hanging sheetrock, moving kegs, power washing the ceilings, arguing with various agencies, and cutting the water main. Without Golden Promise malt, made by family-owned Simpsons Malt, Furious would just be pissed offed. From Scotland, this malt is still produced in the tradition of turning over the barley by hand, resulting in a malt that is unsurpassed in its quality. Golden Promise is also used extensively by premium whisky distilleries such as The Macallan. This malt provides the backbone for the intense hop character. Four American hop varieties are used at a rate of over three pounds per barrel. The result is a rich malt sweetness infused with bright hop flavor and aroma from beginning to end. Oh yeah, it’s about 6% alcohol and around 100 IBUs.

UPDATED: MAR 19, 2014 On tap at Ike’s at MSP. Copper with thin beige head. Plenty of lacing. Very aromatic - citrus, pine, caramel. Heavy sweetness followed by very bitter grapefruit hops. Slick, resiny mouthfeel with soft carbonation. Very nice IPA.

Pours a luminescent red with a thick, foamy off white head that stays permanently. Nose is bready. Taste is very well balanced with rich malt vying with a bouquet of hop notes for dominance. Slightly astringent finish with sharp bitter aftertaste. Delightful! ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Canned 4/6. Pours a mostly clear amber light copper color with a light tan head. Aroma is fresh, wet hops, piney, caramel malts. Flavor is loads of wet piney hops, but not overly bitter. Thick piney hops lingers in the flavor. Tasty. Thanks Drew!

From a can into a sifter. Red copper slightly cloudy body with large tan head and lots of lacing. Nose is caramel, pine, grapefruit, peaches. Medium to light body, medium to high lively carbonation, moderately sweet, low bitterness, dry finish. Shorter finish a tad watery, but makes it a very drinkable IPA. Overall a nice piney hop profile with enough fruit and floral nots to make it interesting, not too bitter, great session beer.

Can at home. Pours a dark copper color with medium retention and a small bit of lace. Aroma is pine citrus, caramel malts, a bit of tropical fruit. Nice hop notes. Taste is solidly bitter. Tropical fruit, citrus. A bit of cracker and caramel. Great bitterness. Medium body, highly carbonated. A bit of an oily, almost resiny finish on the palate. Awesome.

Bright hop nose and taste. Nice deep color. Chewy body with a substantial malt body and alcohol to suppor the massive hopping. Bitter in a good way. Yum

16 oz can to pint (canned on 03/10/15). Looks solid; malty though. A fairly transparent deep orange with off-white head that steadily dissipates into lacing. Smells and tastes hops and caramel with a sticky medium-bodied mouthfeel. Could be lighter and dryer, but enjoyable nonetheless.

On tap at the brewery. Pour is Clear orange with a big white head and sticky lacing. Big grapefruit, candied oranges, some grass notes, light cat piss and weed notes in the aroma. Taste is weed, orange peel, grass, some grapefruit, bread, and herbal hops with a medium bitter finish. Medium body with high carbonation. Tasty, I’m just not a huge simcoe fan.
