COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Like Hops? You’ll like this fire-hued beer. This is the beer I have always dreamed of making. This is the beer that would come to mind while spending the last two years tearing down walls, hanging sheetrock, moving kegs, power washing the ceilings, arguing with various agencies, and cutting the water main. Without Golden Promise malt, made by family-owned Simpsons Malt, Furious would just be pissed offed. From Scotland, this malt is still produced in the tradition of turning over the barley by hand, resulting in a malt that is unsurpassed in its quality. Golden Promise is also used extensively by premium whisky distilleries such as The Macallan. This malt provides the backbone for the intense hop character. Four American hop varieties are used at a rate of over three pounds per barrel. The result is a rich malt sweetness infused with bright hop flavor and aroma from beginning to end. Oh yeah, it’s about 6% alcohol and around 100 IBUs.

Holy lord this is a phenomenal brew. Ridiculously hoppy, citrus goodness, and a tremendous malt background. Absolutely one of the top 2 or 3 IPAs in America. Plus, the can is awesome.

Can from wisconsinbeer...thanks a million! Pours a nice reddish amber color with a small off white head. Aroma is delicious! Citrus, pine, and malt. Flavor is so damn good. Sweet, hoppy, thick, and smooth. Citrus and piney hops hit you with a rush of matls. This is one fine IPA. World class.

From a can. My first Surly beer. Lovely, hophead’s dream aroma, pine and grapefruit and some grass, maybe a little nutty. Super bitter, a little lemony sour, thin but smooth, if that makes any sense. Really great lacing, and a very attractive, richly colored beer. I haven’t smelled a beer this piney in a while. First impression is it’s in the Two Hearted/Stone IPA classification. It may be a little bit too bitter. I’ve been thinking, I don’t rate many beers poorly. But I also make a point of trying not to drink beers that aren’t going to be any good.

Draft from Sheffiels. Poured a deep red with small white head. Smells of citrus fruits. Tastes included malts, citrus, and pine. Good mix of the three. Very hoppy, and a very good brew!

One of my favorite IPAs. Great hoppy aroma, noticeable pine and citrus flavors. Wonderful on tap!

Can’t help but like killer IPA that comes from a can. Pours amber and bubbly, with a nose of grapefruit and lemon zest that powers down your sinus cavity. Sweet yet oh so hoppy, the nose on this IPA is brilliant. The citrus-juiced hops follow through into the flavor, yet there’s a danish-like malt center that give startling balance to this 100 IBU behemoth. A single IPA this big that is this easy to put back makes for quite the achievement. (3/2/09)

Completely caught off guard with this beer. Personally the can thing is getting redundant, but this was actually a solid beer that I would love to come back too, sorry fat tire but you ruined me on cans, but you also ruined a lot of things for me. Big citrusy hops, well balanced and I can drink these at a Raiders game without the worry of getting hurt when the parking lot gets rowdy and this comes my way in the air. Big fan, now I need to get some more.

Can to glass. A real IPA for those of us who like hops. Nice looking beer, clear copper with caramel and red highlights. Nice head and retention. Great aroma of citrus, some pine, just a hint of sweet caramel. Taste is much the same, with lingering bitterness balanced out by some nice sweet malt notes. Very nice on the palate. A great drinking beer. Glad I live in Minnesota!
