4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 16/20 Crosling (1861) - Loveland, Colorado, USA - JUN 7, 2007
A darker colored IPA, more of a dark brownnish/burgundy color with a full, wispy head. Extremely fragrant hop nose, it’s extremely piney and sappy, also a bit medicinal and foresty. Hints of lemon and lime as well come from the sensational aroma. Sweeter and maltier than most IPA’s, but with a lovely, fresh hop flavor. Awfully complex and well brewed. This is deserving of its high score.

Can shared with and courtesy of HogTownHarry. I’m pretty excited about this one, thanks for sharing Harry! Pours a slightly cloudy amber-orange with an average size diminishing off-white head. Aroma: Oh fuck yeah, that smells so good! Lots of pine and citrus hops nicely backed by caramel malt, it’s pretty much as good as an IPA can smell. Flavour’s no slouch either, it follows the aroma with lots of pine and citrus hops and just enough malt backing it up, some fruit, a hint of spices and a long bitter finish. Medium bodied. Wow, there’s no question this is the best IPA in a can I’ve had yet and one of the best IPAs I’ve had period. More please!

At GTMW 2006 on 8/12/2006. Had one listed as "Teabag Furious". A randalized or post-hopped version of the beer, I believe. Anyway, it pours to a coppery body with a creamy white head. The aroma is sweet fruity hops, juicy. Very nice. The flavor is sweet, juicy, hoppy. Nice sweet malts. The palate is refreshing, medium bodied. Very very drinkable.

From a pint sized can...
Appears a hazy, semi-transparent orange toned amber with moderate CO2 streams that quickly rise to the top. A 2 finger, beige head of cream slowly fades into a mild cap and heavy collar. Tubular lacing is left all around the glass. Very nice.
Smell is of caramel, pine, citrus, grass, and toasted biscuits.
Taste is that of the aromas with a sweet, caramel covered biscuit flavor that has been toasted in a brick oven that’s been fired by cut pine with some tangerine peels thrown into the flame. Along with aforementioned journey through the brick oven, the beer offers some doughy yeast, and a touch of pepper and spice.
Mouthfeel is silky upon the first sip, leading to a nice bite of spice in a medium bodied, sugary, bitter but balanced brew.

via trade with badgerben - after having many hopbombs this weekend first taste this came off much more like a pale ale hop wise than an IPA. as i drank it more the hops became more pronounced. i had to remember i was drinking an IPA and not an IIPA/DIPA. amazing what you get used to. anyhow, it poured a nice copper color with a fluffy white head. aroma of light citrusy hops...flavor of citrusy (mostly orange with some grapefruit) and a slight pine hops. amazing mouthfeel. just a beautiful creaminess in your mouth. finishes with a nice bitterness. fantastic beer.

UPDATED: MAY 24, 2009 Wow. Good beer in a can. That’s a first. Pours a hazy copper with minimal head. Flavor has notes of banana, as well as grassy hops. Somewhat spicy and piney - but not overly so. A good IPA - still strange to think this came in a can though. FRESH: This stuff is even more amazing! Bumping this up a notch, as it has some nice dank notes in it.

Can courtesy of tpd975. Pours a clear amber with a one finger lasting light tan head that leaves great lacing. Aroma of pine, citrus, and floral hops with a soft balance of sweet malt and caramel. Taste is the same as aroma. Medium mouthfeel with a strong but well balanced amount of bitterness. Damn good.

12 oz. can from my brother. Deep orange amber with a substantial off white head and nice lace. Huge hop aroma with assertive citrus and pine, but nicely supported by a solid malty presence. Medium body and carbonation, deliciously resinous mouthfeel. Up front caramel sweetness succumbs quickly to the hop onslaught, resulting in a very dry, bitter finish that goes on and on. Among the better IPAs.
