COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Like Hops? You’ll like this fire-hued beer. This is the beer I have always dreamed of making. This is the beer that would come to mind while spending the last two years tearing down walls, hanging sheetrock, moving kegs, power washing the ceilings, arguing with various agencies, and cutting the water main. Without Golden Promise malt, made by family-owned Simpsons Malt, Furious would just be pissed offed. From Scotland, this malt is still produced in the tradition of turning over the barley by hand, resulting in a malt that is unsurpassed in its quality. Golden Promise is also used extensively by premium whisky distilleries such as The Macallan. This malt provides the backbone for the intense hop character. Four American hop varieties are used at a rate of over three pounds per barrel. The result is a rich malt sweetness infused with bright hop flavor and aroma from beginning to end. Oh yeah, it’s about 6% alcohol and around 100 IBUs.

Can. Pours amber with quarter inch white head. Aroma is fresh grapefruit. Flavor is caramel and grapefruit. Very nice IPA (though it should probably be classified as an imperial amber ale).

Great pour from a 16oz can into a pint glass. Cooler aroma comes off as hoppy with a grapefruit and toffee smell. The first taste comes off as hoppy and quickly transitions to grapefruit and toffee flavors as the beer warms the flavor becomes fruitier. I do not feel overpowered by the hops but they slightly overpower the malt, just barely. The mouthfeel starts off smooth and silky as it warms there is more CO2 bite and more aromatics come off the flavors seem to brighten up and really combine better and balance more.

On tap at Crave. Pours cloudy deep caramel.milky tan head with great head retention and lacing. Pine, grapefruit, caramel malts.not too spicy, some resin. Really tasty! Pine, malts, quick bitter bomb that fades quickly. Really balanced. Medium finish. What a pleasant surprise find.

Received this in the mail today, courtesy of Nate. Pours a nice cloudy, orange hue. Nice hoppy profile and is balanced very well. This is one of the better IPA’s I’ve had in a while and certainly lived up to it’s hype.

Can, big thanks to Tripplebrew. Poured into a shaker. Great eye appeal with solid retention. You get every hop aroma possible. (Pine, grapefruit and a tad floral) Lots of fruit in the taste and a balanced malt to support it. Anything else I say would be a repeat of other ratings… BUT I will say if you are a Hop Head, you need to get a few cans of this. Or take a road trip and get a case or two. This is an amazing IPA, no matter how you spin this or how much you want to dissect it, no flaws at all. I am kind of sensitive when it comes to bitterness… and I still find this fantastic!

This one goes in the pantheum of ipas. Great appearance, strong piney smell, and smooth yet bitter taste. Yum.

Pours opaque brownish red with a fair amount of sed. Smells of citrus, grapefruit, caramel malts, and a sweet almost honey note. This beer is very interesing the sweet malts start big and then half way through the swallow it thins to a light sweet grainy taste and as it progresses I get some pine and grapefruit. Mouthfeel is pleasant and light and finish is long and bitter but a clean finish.
