COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Like Hops? You’ll like this fire-hued beer. This is the beer I have always dreamed of making. This is the beer that would come to mind while spending the last two years tearing down walls, hanging sheetrock, moving kegs, power washing the ceilings, arguing with various agencies, and cutting the water main. Without Golden Promise malt, made by family-owned Simpsons Malt, Furious would just be pissed offed. From Scotland, this malt is still produced in the tradition of turning over the barley by hand, resulting in a malt that is unsurpassed in its quality. Golden Promise is also used extensively by premium whisky distilleries such as The Macallan. This malt provides the backbone for the intense hop character. Four American hop varieties are used at a rate of over three pounds per barrel. The result is a rich malt sweetness infused with bright hop flavor and aroma from beginning to end. Oh yeah, it’s about 6% alcohol and around 100 IBUs.

On Tap @ Binny’s South Loop. Really enjoyable. Pour quite a dark amber glowing color, almost brown. Head is creamy and light tan in color, lots of beutiful lace. Malty, grapefruit, caramel, toffee, lots of piney hops, bitter, citrus, and very well balanced. Slightly earthy and a nice creamy mouthfeel. Very good, enjoyed every moment of this wouderfully crafted beer.

can thanks mashmaster. Poured a dark redish/orange color with a nice big head. Aroma is nice balanced hops with some sweetness. taste is very well balanced and drinkable. Hops dominate but dont over power. There is a light sweetness through out and the finish is clean. Very good.

Poured dark amber with white head. Aroma of hops and citrus. Started with a strong hop flavor which mellowed into a sweet caramel taste. Citrus and pine were present also. Very well balanced between hops and malt. Wish I had more than 1 can....

UPDATED: NOV 25, 2009 can poured an amber color with a thick foamy off white head that retained well. aroma has beautiful hop character with citrus, bitter and sweetness. has that sweet juicy fruit thing. mouth feel is medium with plenty of carbonation. flavor has more malt coming through, nice citrus, lightly bitter resins, and hefty sweetness. nicely balanced out proving strong flavors while still being easy to drink.

Pours reddish copper with small head. Pine and citrus on the nose. Lots of bitter citrus with a medium body and pleasant finish. Nice beer, I wish it was available locally.

Can via trade with scoobydank. Nose is sweet hops, soda like nose with the effervescence. Strong pineapple syrup to the nose with caramel-toffee hints. Pours a nice amber hue with a tone of frothy off white to cream head. Flavors have that same pineapple with a strong grapefruit twist. Pretty refreshing. Mouth is pretty sticky with syrup, a mild bitter burn in the after taste.

On tap, poured from a growler, or in a can this is a great IPA. A great hazy amber pour leaves a rich white head. The citrus aroma is quite strong, but the balance of bitter and sweet gives this beer its character. I’m nice and close to the brewery so I try to grab a couple of growlers every Saturday.

Pours a dark amber hue with foamy, white head and some lacing. Tastes quite bitter but still balanced. Hints of malts, citrus, and pine. A very bitter beer but still has a great flavor.
