COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Like Hops? You’ll like this fire-hued beer. This is the beer I have always dreamed of making. This is the beer that would come to mind while spending the last two years tearing down walls, hanging sheetrock, moving kegs, power washing the ceilings, arguing with various agencies, and cutting the water main. Without Golden Promise malt, made by family-owned Simpsons Malt, Furious would just be pissed offed. From Scotland, this malt is still produced in the tradition of turning over the barley by hand, resulting in a malt that is unsurpassed in its quality. Golden Promise is also used extensively by premium whisky distilleries such as The Macallan. This malt provides the backbone for the intense hop character. Four American hop varieties are used at a rate of over three pounds per barrel. The result is a rich malt sweetness infused with bright hop flavor and aroma from beginning to end. Oh yeah, it’s about 6% alcohol and around 100 IBUs.

Much thanks for theisti for this one...fantastic! Darker caramel pour with a great big head that leaves gorgeous lacing. Very much floral hops and grapefruit. Medium bodied mouthfeel with strong grapefruit flavor. Pine flavors as well. This is exactly how I like my IPA. Damn, I wish I could get this daily.

Wonderfully dark, and excellent breadiness and caramel sweetness mixes perfectly with the super pine and citrus. Excellent body. A melded IPA, very drinkable despite the high IBU. Sesionable even. Thx iahereye.

Can with thanks to DalzAle. Pours a coppery body with a small/medium head of dense tan foam. Aromas are sharp and cutting pine... smells like the blue spruce we had in the house this past Christmas season. Man is that a great flavor... tastes just like a blue spruce. That said, it does come across as a bit thin at times... don’t know if it is the malt presence being overwhelmed or what. Pretty darn good stuff.

One fantastic IPA...probably one of the most sessionable of the big IPA’s I’ve had in months. Great coppery crimson pour, with a moderately fluffy head that dissapates quickly. The nose is huge grapefruit and touches of pine resins. The big rich malt bottom oozes quality and balances the big bright hop bite very effectively. I wanted to order another one as soon as I finished my third sip...I wanted to avoid the two minute wait between pours...Finishes on a lingering hop slap that is equal parts bitter and dry. NICE!

UPDATED: JUL 5, 2009 Pours a dark amber with a dense, creamy off-white head, Hops-driven aroma with orange, earth, spice, and a bit of grain. Flavor is malt-driven but not sweet, with secondary hops flavors--earth, spice, tertiarycitrus--and lots of bitterness with stick around through the long finish.

Incredible. Smooth and malty with an overwhelming hop aroma. Subtle bitter finish with notes of pine and citrus. Really well balanced, not at all overwhelming. Excellent brew.

UPDATED: SEP 12, 2008 Pours a nice hazy amber-copper with a thick off white head. Aroma is floral hop initially then pine, all backed by a toasty malt. Flavour carries the pine hop through a medium caramel malt body. Finishes dryish bitter. Very tasty.

UPDATED: JUL 2, 2009 This one poured a darker amber color with a somewhat small off white head. Aroma was lots of fresh floral and fruity citrus hops, a bit sweet as well. Flavor was a huge burst of citrus flavor, then a nice smooth caramel balance, followed byh a long lasting but not too bitter finish. This is some damn good stuff!!!
