COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Like Hops? You’ll like this fire-hued beer. This is the beer I have always dreamed of making. This is the beer that would come to mind while spending the last two years tearing down walls, hanging sheetrock, moving kegs, power washing the ceilings, arguing with various agencies, and cutting the water main. Without Golden Promise malt, made by family-owned Simpsons Malt, Furious would just be pissed offed. From Scotland, this malt is still produced in the tradition of turning over the barley by hand, resulting in a malt that is unsurpassed in its quality. Golden Promise is also used extensively by premium whisky distilleries such as The Macallan. This malt provides the backbone for the intense hop character. Four American hop varieties are used at a rate of over three pounds per barrel. The result is a rich malt sweetness infused with bright hop flavor and aroma from beginning to end. Oh yeah, it’s about 6% alcohol and around 100 IBUs.

Poured a big head, mostly diminishing, excellent lacing with a light brown color. The aroma is hops, pine, citrus-grapefruit/lime. The body is cloudy a golden copper color. The initial flavor is Hops, bitter, creamy very good. The body is medium and the texture creamy.

UPDATED: DEC 18, 2009 [Can 4/26/09] Pours copper reddish/orange with a fine head. The scotch malt is easily identified in the aroma and flavor. Piney and pretty bitter, dry. Sticky body, with soda like carbonation. Reminds me of Moylan’s Hopsickle. 7.4.8.4.16 . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . [rerate can, thanks to WisconsinBeer!] Pours a darker copper/red, clear, with a very sticky foamy off-white head. Aroma is brightly hoppy, very piney, resinous, honey malt sweetness, loads of green pine needles. Flavor follows, super piney, sweet cotton candy, great aggressive hop kick, quite bitter but also very sweet so the high IBU’s are fairly balanced, seemingly like a double IPA. Medium bodied, sugary watery feeling with sharp carbonation. 8.4.8.4.16

Had the Furious on tap this past friday night. MMMMMmmm GOOD! Had a few of these, and I could’nt get enough it. Even crossed the border Saturday morning into Woodbury,Minn and picked up a 4 pack of some Cynicale. Anyway, onto the beer.. Pours a beautiful illuminescent copper colour with a big of white head. Aroma is fresh and dank. Fresh hops, pine, grapefruit and citrus all over the nose. A steady of flow of fruit loops and badunka skunk. Really- it’s that dank. TAste is full, peppery, fruity, and hoppy (der) but balanced and young. With such a tastey, spicey finish- I love it!! Beeeeautiful brew :)

Can thanks to ericandersnavy. Pours a nice deep amber with nice off-white head. Aroma of very nice grapefruit, malt, with wonderful floral accents. Flavor of nic crisp grapefruit, malty, earthy, nice aggresive bitter with a hint of alcohol spiciness. Mouth feel is medium-heavy body with medium-heavy carbonation. Overall, a well crafted beer!

Pours dark amber for an IPA for an IPA with tons of sediment - I am assuming hop resinsl The aroma bring pleasant notes of sweet and bitter hops lighter but pleasing and noticeable on the palate, not aggressive or abrasive like the Abrasive because of a malty base. The flavor of malts is a basis begins with light bitter hop notes that bring zesty citrus notes to the palate. The settle slowly on the palate with lemon zesty notes.

A hoppy beer with great flavor balance. Had on tap. Deep in color and long on finish. Other reviewers have pretty much nailed the description so I won’t waste space. Certainly an IPA you could drink all night.
