COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Like Hops? You’ll like this fire-hued beer. This is the beer I have always dreamed of making. This is the beer that would come to mind while spending the last two years tearing down walls, hanging sheetrock, moving kegs, power washing the ceilings, arguing with various agencies, and cutting the water main. Without Golden Promise malt, made by family-owned Simpsons Malt, Furious would just be pissed offed. From Scotland, this malt is still produced in the tradition of turning over the barley by hand, resulting in a malt that is unsurpassed in its quality. Golden Promise is also used extensively by premium whisky distilleries such as The Macallan. This malt provides the backbone for the intense hop character. Four American hop varieties are used at a rate of over three pounds per barrel. The result is a rich malt sweetness infused with bright hop flavor and aroma from beginning to end. Oh yeah, it’s about 6% alcohol and around 100 IBUs.

Pours a DARK amber color with one of the best foam heads i’ve seen in an IPA. Smell is hoppy, with just enough pine to it to be near perfect. The taste follows suit with the previous categories. Hoppy up front with a smooth, perfect and not overbearing pine finish. Not sure, but close to the best IPA i’ve had.

Nice balance of bitterness and body. Grapefruit tones, very very drinkable. It’s bitter but has enough body that its very enjoyable.

Tap, can & growler. Beautiful orange-amber color and smells just like hop blossoms and citrus fruit. Hoppy-smooth on the tongue, with a bitter but malty balanced finish. Yum.

Off the tap at Brasa and the MN state fair. Cloudy golden pour with white head that laced all the way down. Bold hop flavor, with big pine and grapefruit notes, backed by a great malt build. Mouthfeel is very substantial. Reasonable ABV is nice, since you’ll want to have more than one. My only regret is not stuffing my suitcase fully of these. This NEEDS to find its way to TX.

On tap @ the Bavarian Lodge. Pours a clear copper-amber with a medium white head that leaves tons of lacing. The aroma is very fresh hops, with citrus, orange, floral, and grassy notes. The flavor is similar, with a nice malty backbone, but very hop forward. Very tasty, mostly balanced, and bitter as hell.

UPDATED: FEB 16, 2010 A fantastic hop-lover’s IPA, poured out of the can and developed very nice white head with a orange/copper color. SMells of deep Cascade American hops with the Scottish malt as an undertone. Drinks to a strong hop taste that explodes with flavor, and balances almost perfectly to the malt at the end. One of, if not my favorite, IPAs. Rate of Cask Tea-Bagged Furious: Not nearly like the other regular in can brew. ABV of 5.5%, huge creamy head with red body. Smell is hops, hops and hops. Taste up front is thick citrus and predominate piney hops, like chewing on Simcoe hops, with an unbelievable creamy mouthfeel and a nice bitter finish. Excellent! 4.8.

It pours a very dark copper with a half finger white head that stays awhile with excellent lacing. The aroma is very hoppy with very subtle notes of orange and spice. The tatse is hoppy throughout and not very complex. It is not the typical IPA start and finish. Its kinda sweet throughout but hops dominates. Mouthfeel is decent and you can slam this.

A: Rich reddish-amber body... dense, massive off white head comprised of minuscule, tightly packed bubbles... great retention and lacing.. S: I could smell this while pouring at arms length away... delicious pine and grapefruit it what seems perfect balance... slight caramel-toffee malt background T: So close to a 5 with i could give a 4.9... well balanced grapefruit and pine hop bitterness, rich maltiness, perhaps a bit much for my preferences... M: Smooth, medium bodied, good carbonation, with a crisp finish. D: I found the drinkability on this guy through the roof. Super nice beer...
