COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Like Hops? You’ll like this fire-hued beer. This is the beer I have always dreamed of making. This is the beer that would come to mind while spending the last two years tearing down walls, hanging sheetrock, moving kegs, power washing the ceilings, arguing with various agencies, and cutting the water main. Without Golden Promise malt, made by family-owned Simpsons Malt, Furious would just be pissed offed. From Scotland, this malt is still produced in the tradition of turning over the barley by hand, resulting in a malt that is unsurpassed in its quality. Golden Promise is also used extensively by premium whisky distilleries such as The Macallan. This malt provides the backbone for the intense hop character. Four American hop varieties are used at a rate of over three pounds per barrel. The result is a rich malt sweetness infused with bright hop flavor and aroma from beginning to end. Oh yeah, it’s about 6% alcohol and around 100 IBUs.

Thanks to Tytoanderso for this sweet bonus. Pours a deep amber orange with thick off-white head. Aroma of mostly citrus with slight floral hops, pine, and grass. Flavor is surprisingly complex, but didn’t quite have the hops bite I was expecting. Not a bad thing though, because this is really one very great IPA. Definitely gonna be trying to get my hands on this again.

On tap at the brewery. Pour is Clear orange with a big white head and sticky lacing. Big grapefruit, candied oranges, some grass notes, light cat piss and weed notes in the aroma. Taste is weed, orange peel, grass, some grapefruit, bread, and herbal hops with a medium bitter finish. Medium body with high carbonation. Tasty, I’m just not a huge simcoe fan.

Great floral smell. Mediocre brownish appearance. Smooth, balanced taste. Good.

Strong beer with good malt backbone. It is heavy in the hops. Almost to much bitter hops for my taste.

Piney, citrusy and bitter. Terrific lacing, great ruby color, and the taste stays on your lips for hours afterward.

Golden orange, cloudy with an ample tan head. Apricot or pineapple, honey, lightly floral, some pine resin. Quite bitter backed by nice amount of biscuity malt sweetness. Medium body, fairly oily, quite acidic, lively, longer acrid finish. Excellent.

Tan light copper hued. Ivory foam. Orange rind, caramel threads, tangy and bitter, sweet caramels.

I love the Abrasive one from Surly, and I, like others, am excited to see an interesting new brewer in the region. However, I was a little disappointed in this offering, as it is fairly thin tasting and one-dimensional. Not a bad beer at all, of course, but I was expecting something more than another average IPA.

Deep orange pour with a quarter inch beige head. Nice aromatic hops, pine and florals, pollen too. Average carbonation, thick frothy mouthfeel, effervescent crisp finish, numbing to tongue. Taste is bites pine hips and citrus zest with smooth even balance provided by Carmel malt.

Lovely clean Amber with a tan head. Aroma is intense pine, candied tropical fruits, mild toasted malt. Medium thin bodied. Flavor starts relatively sweet, pine, citrus fruit. Finishes with lingering medium bitterness. Pretty solid. I wish the flavor lived up to the aroma.

Big fall leaves on a crisp day aromas. Cloudy orange tinted brown with ring and isles of head. Smooth earthy hop hits, ballances, then rinsed. Very refreshing yet still great flavors.
