10 oz. pour, on tap at the brewery’s taproom. Pours a slightly hazy, orange-ish gold with a small to moderate amount of fluffy, substantial, off-white head. Produces good lacing. Strong, sour smell features scents of apricot, tangerine, hay, brine, and pretzel. Sour, dry taste reminds me of Orval (that is high praise). Spicy flavor: Black pepper. Salt / seawater / brine flavor. Crabapple and apple cider flavors as well. A bit of alcohol noticeable in the taste, but not in a bad way. Satisfying, bready, cracker, pretzel finish. Also mint gum / spearmint in the finish. In addition, finish is dry, as is the aftertaste. Easy to drink. Light to medium body. Crisp and lively in the palate. Complex and interesting overall. It is more sour and has an inferior body to Orval, but just the fact that it can be mentioned alongside Orval is quite an accomplishment. This is a darn good and expertly crafted beer, the quality of which becomes more clear with each sip. 7/4/8/3/16=>3.8

Tap at Surly taproom, I really enjoyed this, I didnt get much saison tastes from it, more of the brett and white wine stuff. while not bracingly sour its a nice tart flavor that is easy drinking and very refreshing like an imperial berliner if that makes any sense. Good stuff.

On tap at GTWM 2013. Orange-tan body. Foamy off-white head. Funky, unappealing infected aroma. OK, not so far off, approaching authentic. OKish.

Tap. Clear light yellow pour, minimal carbonation and an aroma of slightly sweet belgian yeast. Flavor is slightly sweet banana-y Belgian yeast, hints of white pepper similar to Cynic and some well balance sweetness on the finish.
