On tap at Darkness Day 2015. Pours a very dark brown with a bubbly brown head that starts and remains at the edges. Aroma has notes of musty dark grains and oak with a bit of bread underlying. Flavor has earthy dark grains and a strong ISO note with some bitter grass in the finish.

Cask @ Darkness Day. Slightly hazy deep brown with a small head. Nose is full of vanilla and caramel. Some cocoa puffs. Taste is somewhat more muted. Slight boozy tang. Cream and light cocoa, caramel and toast. Light body, very soft carb. Solid.

Tap at Darkness Day. Pour is brown with minimal head. Aroma is nutty and oak, flavor is very oaky, dry, quite nice. The oak adds a lot to this.

On tap. Perceived strength of this beer has been really amped up without an ABV boost. I think I prefer the original though.

Cask @ Darkness Day 2012. Pours a reddish brown appearance with light bubbly, tan head. Quite rich and fresh oaky, tannic, vanilla, somewhat nutty aroma. Tannin forward, grain woody, nutty, toasty malty, toffee flavor. One of my favorites that I tasted during Darkness Day.

Cask. Additional oak goes with the brown ale base wich is good but not amazing. Smooth mouthfeel.

Had on cask at darkness day. Like the bender but the oak aroma and taste was a nice addition.

Had at Darkness day on cask, the color was like a dark tea. Had a weaker scent of the regular Bender. The taste was like a watered down Bender, which reminded me of a glass of tea at times.
