COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
It’s been said; "It’s easier to brew an extremely hoppy beer than an extremely balanced beer." And you know us, we are always looking for the easy way out, so we jumped on the West Coast IPA bandwagon and brewed this dry and hoppy ale. "Surly’s a little bit of a one-trick pony, they just brew gimmick beers," and maybe we are OVERRATED, but at the end of the day, it’s just a beer. If you like it, great, so do we. If you only liked us when we were small, then leave this one on the shelf. Let one of the fanboys grab it.

Crisp, piney, very west coast. Have you ever had pliney?, touch of bitter, bit of malt, hoppy but not too bad. Very balanced. Good but not great, but they definately nailed the overrated west coast style.

I drank this the following day after trying Surly Wet. IMO this is a better beer. Definitely has the west coast qualities. Great IPA. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Thanks to iadler for the beer! 16 oz. can served in a Midnight Sun chub. A: Pours a clear orange color with a thin white head forming on the pour. It recedes to a thin ring that leaves some splotchy lace down the glass. S: Nice notes of citrus with some orange pith. Sweet pale malts balanced out the beer. T: Same as the nose. Nice bursts of citrus fruits with some lingering bitterness on the back end. Slightly piney with a hefty dose of orange pith to dry it out. M: Medium to light bodied with a medium carbonation level. Light bitterness on the finish. O: Not the best thing I’ve had from Surly. Pretty one dimensional in the flavor department. Serving type: can 06-01-2013

Hazy golden pour, with a big foamy white head, aroma strongly pine and grapefruit hops, some other citrus as well. Some tropical fruit as well. Strongly bitter, with resinous hops, slight sweetness, pretty well balanced beer. Tough to compare against furious.. Still great

Good stuff. Bitter, but not as intensely as much of the west coast stuff. Also has a nice citrusy, juicy flavor to it. It is a little rough around the edges as the flavors don't totally meld, but still good ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
