COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
It’s been said; "It’s easier to brew an extremely hoppy beer than an extremely balanced beer." And you know us, we are always looking for the easy way out, so we jumped on the West Coast IPA bandwagon and brewed this dry and hoppy ale. "Surly’s a little bit of a one-trick pony, they just brew gimmick beers," and maybe we are OVERRATED, but at the end of the day, it’s just a beer. If you like it, great, so do we. If you only liked us when we were small, then leave this one on the shelf. Let one of the fanboys grab it.

Pint can. Delicious west coast IPA. Smells like a handful of fresh hops. Golden with a delicate white head. Citrus hop flavors dominate in a silky smooth body. The best I’ve had from this brewery.

16 oz can shared with the group. Pours a clear dark golden color with a small white head. The aroma and flavor have a nice West coast hop character, fruity, decent malt presence, finishes more malty than hoppy.

Overrated, not. Chris and Jesse at the Lincoln Wine Bar shared this. It’s really a more balanced version of Furious. All the same grapefruit and pine but a bit smoother edge. I like it.

Hazy golden orange pour with a white head and thin white head and sticky striped lacing ... aroma is of citrusy pine, floral hops and grapefruity .... taste is very bitter and floral with a nice citrusy resiny grapefruity dry hop flavor .... finish is bitter dry resiny with a lingering bitter spicy hop bite .... .definitely a solid west coast interpretation and sessionable

Only moderately overrated... Pretty nice ipa... Smells and tastes like a bag of hops... Definitely has bitterness that hangs around .... I feel good beers to hit up if u like this would've half acre daisy cutter and revolutions anti hero ipa... Both Chicago breweries... Good beer here though ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Amber with a slowly fading medium tan crown. Aroma is west coasty with pine and resinous notes backed by citrus, floral hops and a caramalt backer. Taste is pale and resinous with pine, floral hops, fainter citrus and some semi-sweet malt. Aggressively bitter and decent though I prefer furious.

Canned sample via oakbluff. Gold in colour with fairly strong carbonation. Simple but effective aromas of white grapefruit, clean pale malt, and lime rind. I get more of a lime juice quality in the mouth, backed by more pale malt and various savory herbs. Medium bodied with a solid bitterness. Nothing over the top, but quite enjoyable.

16 oz. can. Pours an orangish amber with a thick frothy white head that dies down to a thin film in a few minutes. Bright, strong, hoppy, lots of orange peel, tangerine, and pine. Some resin. Some floral notes as well. Mild malt presence in the nose, mostly cold dough, fresh bread, and cookie dough malts. Taste is quite bitter. Lots of delicious, piney and citrus hops. Fresh, some florals. Medium bodied, nice carbonation. Finishes long and bitter. Fantastic.

Pours a golden hazy with a little particular with 1 finger creamy head leaving heavy lacing. Aroma of pineapple, grapfruit and a bit of pine hop with toasted malt. Moderately bitter throuhgout. Dry. Not sweet at all. Long hoppy, bitter ifnish. Medium to full bodied. This is a great hoppy/bitter beer for a hop head to indulge in.

Can from CT Ave Liquor, shared @ Bruce’s. The pour’s light amber with a small head. The nose is light toffee, marmalade-slathered toasted brown bread. The taste is cantaloupe and light citrus. Pine cone. Toffee base. Lightly bitter on the finish. Medium body, mild carbonation. A nicely dialed-in IPA. Good.
