COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Itís been said; "Itís easier to brew an extremely hoppy beer than an extremely balanced beer." And you know us, we are always looking for the easy way out, so we jumped on the West Coast IPA bandwagon and brewed this dry and hoppy ale. "Surlyís a little bit of a one-trick pony, they just brew gimmick beers," and maybe we are OVERRATED, but at the end of the day, itís just a beer. If you like it, great, so do we. If you only liked us when we were small, then leave this one on the shelf. Let one of the fanboys grab it.

Definitely a nice well-hopped up beer. Pours light orange with an initial head and medium lacing. Slightly cloudy. Nose is grapefruit and some resin. Notes of grapefruit up front, maybe some earthy notes in the middle with some sweet tomes. Finish is also big grapefruit bitterness. Well integrated. Tastes are light sweet and big bitter. Full, lmost sticky, body with lively carbonation. Solid.

UPDATED: JUN 14, 2014 Pours a hazy light orange with good head fading to a ring leaving excellent lacing. Aroma is juicy citrus, some pine and grapefruit. Taste is a short hit of juicy citrus, then into a heavier bitterness that pushes my limits of grapefruit, staying just on this side of the fence of enjoyability. Well done overall.

Pours a light gold with good head and lacing. Aroma is pine and grassy hops, with a good amount of caramel malts appearing later in the glass. Taste is a great pine bitterness, dominating the taste profile and living up to its West Coast hop aspirations. Finishes dry with a fruity, doughy, malty aftertaste that leaves you wanting more. Really good! 9+4+8+3+16=4.0

Had it out of a can, and it was deeelicious!! A subtle but firm aromatic hop taste with notes of citrus and pine. Pours a hazy orange hue with a good head and uneven lacing.

Casey very kindly brought this along, thanks Casey. Sat drinking this sat at home with Casey, Traci & Loz 08.07.13 Pours golden in fact it might be a little more edging towards straw coloured, slight haze and a white head. Good punchy bitterness, but this is tempered by a malty base. This is reasonabley bitter with a little grapefruit pithiness, but aligned with a good sweetness also, fruity, decent, IPA. Pint can from stash brought back from last White Bear Lake trip. Poured to a Czech-pils glass displaying a clear, golden color, white, billowy, and persistent head foam, and curtainy cling to the lacing. The aroma started with a bit of sweetness, then piney, leafy, and fresh cone notes. The taste presented a pronounced hop bitterness that was very lingering, earthy, and quite dry. Also noted were some grapefruity citrus, mid-fruit, and supportive malt. Medium bodied, with decent carbonation to successfully carry the flavor notes. Never on the shelf! Always in the frig, or in mine, if Iím lucky! Please come back to IL. soon, Omar!

Thanks, Lee! It is a fucking gimmick beer, no doubt. Bright medium orange body with a buoyant head. Fresh, fresh fruit aromas and crystal malt and big bitter notes. I guess Iím a sucker because it smells awesome. Lush, elegant tropical fruits dominate, but itís crisp and balanced so as to avoid excessive sweetness. Imagine Furious on vacation: itís delish.

500 ml can from levi. Thanks. Pours a translucent new penny copper color with a small white head that soon recedes to a film. The aroma is a bit subdued caramel, mild grains and some pine. The flavor is bitter hops forward with mild pine and grapefruit set in a caramel malt base. The palate is a bit uneven starting thin and building to a pasty conclusion and the carbonation is lively. Finishes medium in duration and clean with a bit of lingering bitter hops. Overall: Not what I would call a west coast IPA, but its still quite good and Iíd drink the shit out it if it was available here.
