Itís been said; "Itís easier to brew an extremely hoppy beer than an extremely balanced beer." And you know us, we are always looking for the easy way out, so we jumped on the West Coast IPA bandwagon and brewed this dry and hoppy ale. "Surlyís a little bit of a one-trick pony, they just brew gimmick beers," and maybe we are OVERRATED, but at the end of the day, itís just a beer. If you like it, great, so do we. If you only liked us when we were small, then leave this one on the shelf. Let one of the fanboys grab it.

ITs a good ipa, overrated if you think it is better than furious though, it is not at all.

Big oleí can. Pours a clear copper color with a medium white head. A nice lemon and biscuit nose. Smooth flavor of oranges, some lemon, caramel, bitter throughout but mildly so. Pretty clean and flavorful. Overall, this is a solid IIPA. Itís a bit mellow overall. Very green and grassy. Good.

Surprisingly light yellow clear pour, with a perfectly sized white head. This is billed as West Coast style, which it is in its bitter hoppy taste that stays with you. However, I've had more bitter IPAs, and moreso, this beer is more balanced than I had expected -- thick mouthfeel and a nice malty base. I would call it a balanced IPA with an emphasis on bitter. Will please both hopheads and those looking for a more complex IPA. Recommended highly! ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Not bad! A more session-able and new "IPA" drinker advancement. Lots of grapefruit and citrus. This is very fresh tasting and must be drank early (dont sit on it!) Overall, not like furious but not bad!

Sampled at an ESBLS tasting in Wood River, Il. Poured from the can a clear bright yellow-orange wit a white head. Nose of grapefruit. Medium body. Flavor is strong hops with grapefruit on caramel malts. Bitter finish. Very classic IPA and good tasting.

Sampled at an esbls tasting. Almost clear golden with a small fizzy head. A big citrus nose. That translates to the flavor. Big grapefruit. Tart and this has a bite. Tasty.

Can into tulip. Straw with 1 finger foamy white head. Aroma is muted but some citrus and herbal hops. Flavor is fairly sweet, some herbal bitterness in the finish. Medium body, medium high carb. Nothing special.

Got a 4-pack of this garbage from hasselHOFFman. Pours deep gold with a slight white head. All around pretty soapy, both in aroma and taste. A bit overrated in my opinion.

16oz canned April 10, 2013. Very fresh. Served at around 40-45F.

Pours lightly hazy orange-amber with a one-finger white head that leaves some foamy spots of lacing and settles to a light cap.

Aroma is grapefruit rind, citrus, some pineapple, good notes of pine, candied fruit. Very good strength.

Flavor is big, unbalanced hops, strong grapefruit and citrus character, pine, resinous hops, pineapple, minimal malt backbone, minimal sweetness, serious bitterness, moderate alcohol. Tasty.

Mouthfeel is medium bodied, oily, a little sticky, good to sharp carbonation.

Excellent stuff. I think I like this better than Furious and Abrasive and thatís saying a lot! I love íem unbalanced and aggressively hoppy and this one delivers.

Fantastic aroma and thick lacing head. Not to the caliber of Furious but it is pretty close. They should have stuck to the unicorn label. Grapefruit and pine front end. Back end bitter and not as pleasant as the amazing aroma. A little to one dimensional but still an amazing beer.
