Can @ Richard’s tasting. Golden orange pour with a white head. Grassy aroma. Some orange peel, floral hops, sweet orange, and some candy. Rather sweet on the tongue. Candy/sugar sweetness, floral hops, some grass, and orange. Light bitterness on the finish. A little bit soapy, too.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Strong dominant Cascade/Centennial hop flavor. Grapefruit. Quite balanced body, with lasting bitterness. Dry and sourdough bready. Very solid IPA. Underrated. Thx Malster85

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20
A safe IPA for people who like IPAs but not overly complex or hoppy. Sits nicely at first but a one-dimensional after taste that actually has a dirt-like taste. That said, it's solid just not ass-kicking.

Gotta love a brewery with some self-awareness. While brewing Overrated, Surly planted their tongues firmly in their cheeks and set the dials to hop-forward. Don’t let the self-deprecating humor fool you. Overrated has serious class. Yes, hops rule the balance, but there are nuanced touches of nectar, juice, and bread. In fact, you may be surprised if you approach this like a typical West Coast Style IPA. Try it for the joke and stay for the deliciousness.

2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
A- Citrus, resin, pine, floral.
A- Golden color, cloudy liquid, white head.
T- Citrus, pine, bitter, floral, subtle caramel.
P- Medium body, average texture, average carbonation, bitter finish.
O- A west coast style IPA for sure. Lots of citrus, pine, and resin. And I would tend to believe that it is indeed, overrated.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Super citrusy, with grapefruit and mango fruit notes that turn a bit harsh and soapy through the heavily hopped finish.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Big aroma of citrus and pine hops along with a smudge of caramel; cloudy deep orange gold color with a bubbly beige head; bittersweet toffee caramel malt, sticky pine resin, grapefruit peel, candied lemon, some dried fruit in the sticky, dry, bitter finish; medium body; a touch sticky, but nice airy feel on the palate; damn good and reminds me of the good ole days of pine and citrus-forward IPAs when the original C-hops were the stars and Citra nowhere in sight!

Decent beer. Not my favorite from the Surly line though. I have had plenty of west coast ipa’s and this one just doesn’t live up. Its not bad but its not great. I would throw this in my session fridge though.
