2015. Bottle to glass. Pours a slightly hazy nut brown color with a light tan head. Aroma is mild, tart, darker malts, touch of vinegar. Flavor packs a nice sour to it, with a good dark malts backbone. Lingering sour into the finish. Not bad.

Many thanks to Rian for sharing! Round smokey malty nose. Smooth-fresh. The smokeyness and the sourness don’t fit well. Sad because the combination is odd and doesn’t fit well. The aftertaste is sour-smokey, not round, not too complex. Strange idea...

Thanks Jason! Pours a hazy brown orange with a light tan head. The smell is wood, roasted dark malt, dark fruit. The taste is add out smells with sourness popping through ending dry. Light plus with average carbonation.

2013 bottle thanks to Tectactoe. Aroma is sour red wine, some funky yogurt, spices, and musty basement. Tastes mildly sour. Lots of red wine. Good funk. Pretty good.

Consumed many times, surprised I have not rated it. Dark brown color. Aroma has yeast and some berry. Flavor is a little sour, just a little, but lots of earth and some red wine, as well as a little vinegar. Good.

Keg at the 4th Copenhagen Beer Celebration, Session 2, 01/05/2015. Rich chestnut brown with a decent beige covering. Nose is tarte fruit, wood, toffee, nutty pangs, funk, damp balsam cherry skin. Taste comprises funky vibes, dark berry fruit, wood must, damp hay, apple core, light acidic vein. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, drying close. Solid sour.

Enjoyed on tap at Jerry’s Sandwiches in Wicker Park while eating some lunch with a friend. Unfortunately I didn’t take tasting notes for this one, because there was a lot going on. Appearance was a copper brown with not much head. Aroma of sour cherries, oak, dried fruit. Taste was very tart at first but gets better as it warms, all of the common sour brew notes with a dry finish. Would have again for sure.

Shared bomber poured to snifters at Tim’s 40th, showing a hazed, amber hue, with a modest layer of off white head foam, and spots of lacing. The nose was sour, ripe fruits & cherry, with a bit of barnyard funk to made it interesting. Medium bodied, the taste continued the esters and sour nature while the brett mellowed, included notes of tannins, earth, and rind that combined to form an overly aggressive bitterness, elevated even more so by lively effervescence. Some vinous hints & dryness added to the finish. Punished the palate a bit, but I survived, and came back for more!

Tap. Pour is dark and aroma brings dark fruit. Taste is sour and tart but clearly an intentional and balanced sour...
