Shared bomber poured to snifters at Tim’s 40th, showing a hazed, amber hue, with a modest layer of off white head foam, and spots of lacing. The nose was sour, ripe fruits & cherry, with a bit of barnyard funk to made it interesting. Medium bodied, the taste continued the esters and sour nature while the brett mellowed, included notes of tannins, earth, and rind that combined to form an overly aggressive bitterness, elevated even more so by lively effervescence. Some vinous hints & dryness added to the finish. Punished the palate a bit, but I survived, and came back for more!

Tap. Pour is dark and aroma brings dark fruit. Taste is sour and tart but clearly an intentional and balanced sour...

750ml bottle. Pours deep-ass burgundy with with a beige head. Tons of sediment. Aroma is very tart, with lots of wood, funk, and some spice. Smells good. Taste is of oak. Lots of oak. Aside from the oak, there is also tobacco, earth, and funk. Lingering funkiness. Finishes very dry, almost like a wine. Mouthfeel is heavy, and sticky. Body is medium, and moderately carbonated. Damn, that was good.

My Bottom Line:
Cherries and earthen notes dominate this creation’s lean and dry texture, leading to agreeable, but simple tart fruitiness.

Further Personal Perceptions:
-A ring of foam circles the murky dark red.
-This is not as complex as what I usually like in this type of beer.
-Cherries become quite acidic after a few sips.
-Wilderness fits with the fruitiness, but doesn’t stand out cleanly.
-This is too expensive for what it is, imho.
