Bottle very kindle brought to me by my buddy Rodney from Minneapolis. Pours reddish-tinted dark brown with a thin bit of beige head. Nose of sour cherries, cherry skins, dark roasted malts, some wood. Taste is a nice mix of acetic and roast. A bit thin, but still very good. Props for a great bottle, too.

On tap @ Copenhagen Beer Celebration 2014. First beer! A blurry really warm amber brown colored one this. A nice medium sizes beige head on the top. Lovely tart red wine vinegar nose. Red berries. Yeah, it’s definitely betted with something this. Lots of funky woody dark charred matches. It’s lovely prickling on the soft bubbles and oily in the mouth. A bit watery perhaps? Well, not really after a few sips. Lots of flavors, quite bitter as well. Sour strawberries, sour apricots, red wine and fruity strawberries. Really lingering aftertaste. A wonderful start. 02.05.2014

On tap @ Brouwer’s. Pours hazy dark reddish brown with medium lacy mocha head. Aroma is tart cherries up front, followed by dry oak, leather, and more red berries on the back. Taste is clean light caramel red malt, crisply tart smooth finish with big vinous red wine flavor on the finish. Very restrained tartness and ABV, but plenty of flavor.

Draft pour at the Brouwers Big Wood festival. Pours a reddish orange color with an interesting sour peach, cherry aroma. Really dry sour fruit flavor. Tiny bit of a wheat finish. Tangerine and sour cherry flavor too. More dry finish. Solid beer. Fits right in with other great sours. Great beer.

Sampled at the STL Hops 7th Anniversary Party - Pours light brown with a tan head. The aroma has sourness, berries, oak, vanilla and light vinegar. It has a medium body with some mush and light carbonation. The taste has the Flanders red aspects of the aroma, but it is more malty and more sourness and a salty aspect. Very well done.

Deep brown and a cream head. Brett, tart cherries, wood, acidic, and light wine. Smooth palate, wood, cherry, yeast, bugs, and funk.

On draft. Clear brown mahogany, with a light tan head. Acidic, berries, fig, raisin, balsamic vinegar, leather, slight funk, and notes of tabacco. Decent, but not great dark sour.

I was surprised to see that this beer is a sour rather than an Imperial stout--the trope of hell, damnation, devil, satantic, etc. usually telegraphs a stout. Instead we get a dark sour, and even then, only slightly dark--lighter than mahogany, darker than chestnut. The impression is strikingly sour, but when some complex plum and blackberry fruit. Good lingering notes, though the palate seems unremarkable after the sour hit. Still, a nice, solid beer. Bottle.

Buddy brought a bottle to a bottle share. Deep ruby color with a very small White head. Smokey lightly peppery huge sour aroma. Good amount cherry flavor. Red wine, slight pepper. Very sour. Interesting and good.

Bottle sent to me as an extra from an overly generous trader. No date on bottle. Thanks!!! Pours dark brown cola color with a one finger, quickly receding khaki colored head. Tart funky Brett aroma, some sour acidity here, light roasted grain, and definite oaky vinous red wine notes. Flavor is oaky berries, cherry, leather, tobacco, very tart, some additional funky barnyard thing, acidic and sour, graham cracker, vinous warmth in the throat. Lighter bodied than I expected, with a super dry finish and low to medium carbonation. This is a pretty good sour brew with nice cherry and tobacco undertones

Very bright, funky and sweet with a strong fig aroma. Interesting, very unique. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
