3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Pours an orangeish-yellow with minimal head that quickly dissipates. The flavor is quite sweet, almost like a Scottish ale. The alcohol is quite apparent in the aroma, though not so much in the flavor. I hope this is a beer that will taste better with age--it’s not that great right now, sorry to say.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Big bottle in a taster. Pours hazy golden with a lacy, off-white head. Aroma of oak and vanilla, some spices and light fruits, caramel and pale malts, some notes of alcohol, and hints of dough. Flavor the same with a decent blend. Average to smoother texture. An interesting beer but not the best.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle. Amber pour with a small head. Concentrated peach on the nose. Strong caramel malt. Sweet toasted bread. Taste shows some signs of oxidization. Mineral, some pennies. Earth. An almost yogurt-like tang. Medium body, soft carbonation. Good stuff.

T: Very sweet, bitter, alcoholic.
M: Medium body with a touch of carbonation. Alcohol is pronounced.
O: Large beer with a lot of orange notes. Time has certainly helped it calm a little.

Goodbye world, drinking this after 2 pub stops and a few other beers at home, big thick body which I thoroughly enjoy, massively orange and virgin wood taste rocks good amount of heat in the finish but not unpleasantly so. Good hearty beer.

4.5 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
Poured from the limited one time release bottle. Nearly 2 years after available (on 06/22/14).
Pours a cloudy orange with a off white white head that diminishes quickly.
Aroma is of floral hops, alcohol and bright refreshing characteristics. Similar to an IPA on a hot day.
Taste is boozy with honey, bread and slight caramel. This isn’t a bad thing as it is still sweet up front with a slight hops bitterness lingering.
Palette is average. Nothing note worthy. Just sharp and awakening.
Overall. Incredible. I will continue to search for more bottles. Probably the best beer to come from Surly except for Darkness.

3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle, thnx to Summer Santa. Cheers. Pours a clear orange beer with a small white head on top. Aroma is very strong, oranges, Belgian yeast, red fruits, booze. Flavor is very strong, lots of alcohol and oranges with some apples in the background. Very fruity, loads of yeast and booze. A bit unbalanced and it has a strong alcoholic burn in the finish. Very full, complex but a bit messy. Nice, but tad too old I guess.

3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Sampled at an ESBLS. Very hazy gold. An off white thin head. A funky fand fruity aroma is pleasant and fairly big. A big fruity flavor. Aggressive. Bitterness. Very complex fruit with a deep resonant bitter after taste. Alcohol is hidden. A little of this goes a long way. A higher score than the beer deserves.
