Enjoyed on tap at Blue Nile during the hop fest extravaganza. A pint of this cost a whopping $8, but with it I was able to get a free less expensive beer (Rush River Bubblejack is what I chose). Kind of a 2 for 1 special, but not really because of the price hike. Now onto the beer. The aroma is very similar to Furious. However, while flavor has some similarities to Furious in the grapefruit and piney hops, the finish is much drier and less of the malts. A little bitter but right up my alley. Great stuff!

Tap @ Darkness day. Nice thick orange color, cannot see through it. Has a strong head on top. As advertised, it is a hop forward brew but not the way I like my hops. The bitterness is strong throughout and the hops are a mix of green vines, some sweet hops, and some light citrus. Its not as dry and attenuated as I like my hoppy beers and the hops are not centered on a particular area for my tastes.

Tap @ Stub and Herbs - Copper pour with a small white head. Really sweet and citrusy hop smell. A little fruity, with not a ton of balance. They’re not kidding when they call this "hop forward". Taste is much the same, with citrus hops and some nice grassiness. Still not much in the way of malt to balance out the hops, but more than what’s on the nose. Medium-bodied, with nice carbonation, but I’m kind of tiring of hop-bombs. Would have liked some more maltiness to round it out.

Draft pours amber red with a thin but long lasting white head. A massive aroma of citrus and floral hops is present. Medium bodied and carbonated, the bitterness from the hops lingers on the tongue. You can tell how fresh the hops are in this wet hopped IPA.

Draft at Stub and Herbs. Pours bright copper with a bit of white head. Fresh leafy pine and grapefuit resin. Bold and mildly abbrassive pine hop bitterness. A tad oily and dry in the finish. Good stuff.

Draft pint, @ Muddy Pig. Pours a beautiful bright copper body with a frothy one finger off-white head that had nice retention and left tons of sticky lacing. The aroma just assaults you with big fresh off the vine citrusy hops that smell so fresh it’s just crazy. There’s a good malt backbone to this as well, but this is clearly all about the hops. The flavor is much the same, knockout citrusy goodness without a ton of bitterness over a nice thick caramel and toasty maltiness. Full resiny stickiness on the palate with a forever lingering hoppiness. Probably the best fresh hop beer I’ve ever come across.

pours golden red with heavy head. nose of floraly fruits like grapefruit. palate is clean and refreshing and it is a surprising thirst-quencher. the citrus punches you in the mouth, mimicking a beer with much higher IBUs. like a surly furious but better. compares to a hoppier sierra nevada. one if the better surly offerings.

On draught at the Happy Gnome in St. Paul, Minnesota. Pours a bright and semi-clear copper colored brew with a heavy off-white head that leaves some spotty lacing. Aroma of citrus zest, a hint of grapefruit juice, some brewery spent malt and a hint of rosemary. Taste is medium bodied, lots of citrus, tangerine, and a hint of caramel malt, Finish is slightly tart, grapefruity and a lingering bitterness that is worth a second or third glass. A lot like the Surly furious but with more tangerine flavors that makes this a borderline IPA and Double IPA beer.

Tap at the brewery. Slighty orange yellow pour, minimal carbonation and an awesome/vibrant strong hop aroma. Flavor was just as good as the smell, sweet fresh hops, some grapefruit and a solid dry bitter finish. Well done.

UPDATED: OCT 21, 2011 TAP: clear amber/semi-red pour, white head, good lacing. Floral hops on the nose, sharp floral hop/malt on taste, very good beer.
