4.8 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 19/20
Draft at Jerry’s. Amber with big, foamy tan head / Nose of fresh pine, caramel, grapefruit, and bubblegum / Medium body, chewy, some sweetness, with good malt and bright hop balance, and with good, smooth, but spicy and slightly bitter finish / Flavors of cut pine, brown sugar, grapefruit, toast, and grain spice / Terrific.

If you are searching for the perfect hoppy brew, this is it. Better than Surly Furious, this brew is smoother, perfectly palatable, and has just as much citrus hoppiness. It’s a bit expensive (I paid $16 for a 4 pack), but you wont regret it.

4.6 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 10/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 17/20
On tap at Stub and Herb’s. Pour is clear golden orange with a thick off white head. Forms good lacing. Aroma is fruity, citrus and earthy hops. Flavor is so clean and refreshing bitter. Palate is smooth, creamy, rich and crisp. Surly just knows how to do it with IPAs.

This is Surly’s best brew imho (but full disclosure is my favorite style). Very hoppy aromas and flavors if fresh. Seems to fade over time, so drink it up while u have it. Freakin’ awesome IPA to drink, and could easily be a staple in my standard lineup. Nice one Surly!

4.5 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
Tap at Roat Osha. Brownish red in color, not much head because of the pour. Very hoppy aroma, smelled a lot like tangerine to me. One of the best beers I’ve ever smelled. Flavor was more mild than I expected, sweet and tangy and still very hoppy with a nice lingering bitter finish.

Darkness day at the brewery. Had this in the can and wasn’t nearly as good as the tap at the brewery! Tasted like the sweetest grapefruit i’ve ever eaten. Maltiness comes in afterwards. Great beer!

4.5 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20
I had this beer three ways from a can on tap and from a cask. All three were great but the cask takes the cake. The beer is cloudy gold with a thick white head. The smell is very hoppy and citrus. The taste is of all the smell with a huge hop flavor great one of the best IPA’s I’ve ever had!!

4.4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20
Tap @ Stub & Herb’s!!! First pint off the freshly tapped keg. Massive white head on the pour and a rich amber color! Citrus hops on the aroma and an incredibly bitter aroma with a thick hoppy resin finish. If you enjoy bitter beer, the finish on this one is incredible. Omar sat down to chat and said the hop bill average out to about $100 a keg!!! Soooooo worth it!

Tap at the brewery. Slighty orange yellow pour, minimal carbonation and an awesome/vibrant strong hop aroma. Flavor was just as good as the smell, sweet fresh hops, some grapefruit and a solid dry bitter finish. Well done.

4.4 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
On tap at Town Hall Brewery. As far as wet hop beers, this is the best. Huge hop presence, very floral, followed by a nice finishing bitterness. Surly knows how to make a hoppy beer!
