To make Surly Wet we took 1,400 lbs of hops picked freshly in oregon and shipped to Minnesota immediately. We brewed this beer three days later. This is a hop forward beer, dry with subdued malt flavors.

Can. Fresh, super citrusy floral hops, and pineapple aroma. Cloudy amber with a moderate off-white head, thick sticky lacing. Fresh citrusy floral hops, pineapple, bready caramel malt flavor. Medium body, moderate carbonation. This just made favorite IPA list. Amazing aroma, fantastic fresh-juicy-fruity hop flavor, and good malt balance. Somehow manages to be bitter without being bitter. Just, wow!

16oz can, thanks to jmikolich and GT2: pours a clear deep golden bronze with a clingy-lacing froth of white head. Has a lightly sweet pale malty nose with lots of fresh resiny hoppy notes. Starts with good fullness and light malty sweetness with lots of juicy hop notes and bitter balance before a drier clean bittersweet finish. An enjoyable fresh hop IPA.

Sample at Falling Rock Beer Tasting with Dr. Bill on 10/13/2012. Pours a clear copper-bronze color with a medium white head that evaporates steadily. Short strings of lacing. Aroma of citrus, hops and malt. Medium body with a moderately bitter hops character that has citrus and herbal notes. Some malt an grass in the background. The finish is hoppy with a grapefruit aftertaste. Very good fresh hop beer overall.

Hazed orange pour with a white head. Nose opens up with sweet citrus notes of grapefruit and tangerine. Some nice floral hops, a touch of bread, and some mild pine. The flavor is almost all tangerine and grapefruit. Mild pine bitterness, some sweet bread and malt notes, and a light floral quality. Very drinkable. Could be a tad dryer, though.

16 oz can to pint (thanks kbutler1). Looks good; a transparent orange with off-white head. Smells and tastes good too; Simcoe with some malt notes too. Good on the palate. This is damn good beer!

Potent fresh hop beer. Love the simcoe. It isnt as complex as others but it packs a.punch for a wet ipa.

Can @ Brad’s house. Pours a clear, dark orange appearance with a cream colored head. Mild cat piss, onion, somewhat spicy hoppy, herbal aroma. Kind of tangy, orange/apple fruity, somewhat spicy, light furniture polish flavor. Ok but I was a bit disappointed.

16oz can thanks to jmikolich. Canned on 10/09/12 it looks like. Pours clear light golden with a rocky, dense, bright white head. Good retention and huge lacing. Nose is...holy cow...so much fresh pineapple and peach. Heavy on white grape juice as it warms. Taste is very soft up front, moving to thick oil and bitter pineapple pith. Some mild white crystalline sugar. Mouthfeel is very rich, oily, no harshness. Finishes quite bitter with nut skin and mild macadamia nut and walnut. Fresh and clean, very drinkable. Almost silky palate. Actually, in my glass if you look carefully there are actually oil beads floating on top of the small, settled layer of bubbles. Literal beads of hop oils. My lord.

16oz can, canned on 10/1/2012, consumed 10/21/2012, nose is awesome, love the aroma of simcoe taste is more of the same, a pleasant not too bitter well carbed beer, really a good example of a wet ipa.

16oz. can split with a few friends, thanks Kyle! Pours golden with a huge white pillow of a head. Dank pine, grapfruit, other citrus, light caramel malts, and some toast to the nose. The flavor is packed with hops, but not mouth drying. More pine and citrus hops and a solid malt body make this a joy. You get the full flavor and aroma of the hops but not the huge bite that you’re used to, and I love it.....stellar.
