To make Surly Wet we took 1,400 lbs of hops picked freshly in oregon and shipped to Minnesota immediately. We brewed this beer three days later. This is a hop forward beer, dry with subdued malt flavors.

Hazed orange pour with a white head. Nose opens up with sweet citrus notes of grapefruit and tangerine. Some nice floral hops, a touch of bread, and some mild pine. The flavor is almost all tangerine and grapefruit. Mild pine bitterness, some sweet bread and malt notes, and a light floral quality. Very drinkable. Could be a tad dryer, though.

500mL can, sent from khoffman43 (thanks Kyle), pours a clear copper / gold with a small white head. Aroma of freshly cut grass, zesty hops and some citrus notes. Flavour of wet citrusy, grassy hops, some zest, and just enough crisp crackery malt to back. Highly drinkable, dominated by the citrus and zest - very nicely hoppy and dry, with medium astringency on the finish. Really excellent thirst-quenching IPA.

Sample at Falling Rock Beer Tasting with Dr. Bill on 10/13/2012. Pours a clear copper-bronze color with a medium white head that evaporates steadily. Short strings of lacing. Aroma of citrus, hops and malt. Medium body with a moderately bitter hops character that has citrus and herbal notes. Some malt an grass in the background. The finish is hoppy with a grapefruit aftertaste. Very good fresh hop beer overall.

Potent fresh hop beer. Love the simcoe. It isnt as complex as others but it packs a.punch for a wet ipa.

Big white head and big lacing on a light golden head. Very fresh and drinkable. Leafy minty, hops in the finish. Smooth mouthfeel. Thanks for sharing Johnsense.

Can. Orange juice and grapefruit peel aroma. Hazy golden yellow with small head. Sweet orange malt and moderate bitter orange peel flavor. Nice body. Very nice.

Can. Pours a clear orange gold with a medium white head leaving spotty lacing. The aroma is a strong floral hop and pine, just amazing nose. Medium mouthfeel with a sweet floral malt and very strong hop bite and nice lingering bitter finish. Hides alcohol decently, a very impressive IPA from Surly.

Can @ Brad’s house. Pours a clear, dark orange appearance with a cream colored head. Mild cat piss, onion, somewhat spicy hoppy, herbal aroma. Kind of tangy, orange/apple fruity, somewhat spicy, light furniture polish flavor. Ok but I was a bit disappointed.

16oz can thanks to jmikolich. Canned on 10/09/12 it looks like. Pours clear light golden with a rocky, dense, bright white head. Good retention and huge lacing. Nose is...holy cow...so much fresh pineapple and peach. Heavy on white grape juice as it warms. Taste is very soft up front, moving to thick oil and bitter pineapple pith. Some mild white crystalline sugar. Mouthfeel is very rich, oily, no harshness. Finishes quite bitter with nut skin and mild macadamia nut and walnut. Fresh and clean, very drinkable. Almost silky palate. Actually, in my glass if you look carefully there are actually oil beads floating on top of the small, settled layer of bubbles. Literal beads of hop oils. My lord.
