2.3 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 8/20
Cask, gravity, at Luton Beer Festival ’11. Amber with a small off white head. Faint malt aroma with a surprising hint of curry, which was odd,as I was expecting the grapefruit and lemon promised by the tasting notes. Fresh malty taste. Perhaps there is a hint of citrus, but it’s not obvious. Some bitterness. Strange beer, and not entirely satisfactory.

(Cask at White Horse on Parson’s Green) Sulphur, more sulphur and and let’s put a little bit sulphur on top. The beer was a bit off-putting at the beginning but then I got accustomed to the sulphurness. Otherwise this was quite like an ordinary bitter. I wouldn’t buy a full pint.

Lemony hop nose. Weird and phlegmy in both texture and flavour. The hop\malt balance is not pleasant.

Cask, GBBF. Blackberries, dry sulfur, apples. Delicate fresh dry apple flavor, light clean palate with a nice tanic edge. Solid, and full of flavor, though would be better sans Burton salt.

A Mes rate: cask at the Hop Farm festival.
Bright orange gold with a thin white film. Very good citric hop aroma with some nice earthy malt in the background. Similar flavour. Really well balanced. Excellent dry and bitter finish. Straight forward but excellent all round.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Cask at White Swan, Broadstairs: Very nice initially, good fruity aroma with a bit of malt. Much the same in the flavour. However, there is a bit of a nasty aftertaste that ruined it for me.

(Cask at GBBF, London, 7 Aug 2008) Pale amber colour with frothy, off-white head. Fruity, malty nose with notes of citrus and earthy hops. Fruity, malty taste with a clean malt profile and generous amounts of citrussy, earthy hops in the finish. Very nice bitter.
