COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Stock ales were once common among America’s family run breweries. 6th Generation Stock Ale features a unique blend of Pearl, Tipple, Crystal and Maris Otter malts from the venerable British malt house, Muntons. Using only hops from Oregon, mostly grown by Goschie Farms in the Williamette Valley, include Mt. Hood, Sterling and whole-cone Liberty hops. Our hopjack provides a brief scalding of the whole-cone Liberty hops to preserve their signature flavor in its purest form. 35 IBUs and our special milling and endosperm mashing process make for a smooth and refreshing ale.

Bottle into pint glass, amber-hued golden color with beige head. Light aroma notes of cocoa powder, caramel malt sweetness and some grass. Taste adds graininess and earthy bitterness. Light body, low-moderate carbonation, crisp with light bitter finish. Interesting historical brew, like a lighter brown pale ale.

Traditional ale with new-ish school hops. Dark tan medium bodied Ale with chocolate malts. This offering by SBC grew on me. I hope to try more from this Northeast Pennsylvania brewery. Picked up a slightly out of date case on super blowout at Bell Beverage.

This was poured into a pint glass because I thought it was an American Pale ale and actually smelling and tasting it, I believe it is one. The appearance was a hazy bronzed orange color with a slim finger’s worth of white head gently dissipating leaving some light rings and having a lacing running here and there. The smell had a light spritzy citrus bitter hops leading into a decent caramel maltiness. The taste took those flavors and made it fairly sweet and earthy. A light toastiness adds itself in there as well. A combined citrusy and earthy aftertaste leads itself into a balanced wet to dry finish. On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body with a fairly decent sessionable quality about it. The carbonation seemed good for the style as there was a decent harshness but nothing controlling. Overall, I say this was a good APA that I could have again.

Pours golden with medium white head. Aroma interesting: getting some stale chocolate, malt, mash and grass. Very acidic. Bitterness up front. I wouldn’t call it smooth, although it doesn’t need to be... It just doesn’t have much else going on.

Opaque light brown pour from bottle. Aroma of caramel malts and metal. Flavor is malty and sugary. Backed with piney hop. A good one to pound in a big mug.

Drank from a twelve ounce bottle. Aromas and taste of dark malts. This beer tastes like a generic cheap small market beer.

Bottle into a tulip glass. Pour is a honey amber on the dark side. Aroma is very low but malt. Taste is a bitter malt with a slightly bitter hint. Finish is clean.

Pours a clear copper color with a creamy off-white head. Aroma of grain and some caramel. Grain flavor with some caramel sweetness and a slight hop bitterness. Solid lacing and a crisp finish.
